There are 12 girls and 2 boys in the music class. There are 7 girls and 1 boy at the read-and-play group at the library. There are 11 girls and 1 boy at the cooking class for 7-10 year-olds.

I wish people didn’t only take boys to sports-related activities. The world has known men who ended up being musicians, writers, scholars, and chefs. It’s not like all men are athletes and women are everything else.

My two sons (and I) have taken a lot of criticism over the years due to their love of dance – even Highland dancing which was invented by and for men!! I find it terribly sad that some parents say they would never take their boys to a dance class.

It’s very sad. Especially since our music class is for babies under 18 months of age. They don’t yet even know who’s a boy and who’s a girl.
