We Suck

At Klara’s daycare, the kids were dressing up in costumes today. All girls got bright-colored gauzy skirts with sparkles. The boys also decided they wanted something this beautiful and put on the gauzy skirts.

When I showed up, the boys lined up to show off their skirts and get compliments from me. It’s so great to see kids before they get weighed down by rotten stereotypes and boys enter the life-long subjection to the tyranny of boring, drab, limited clothing choices. And the open, free emotionality of their early years will be stomped out of these boys as well.

Do you seriously think that when they’re 20 years old, those girls and boys won’t still be dressing exactly alike?

For readers too lazy to click ion the link in my above post: Adding the image was SUPPOSED to display a picture of typical college kids today — boys AND girls, all dressed unisex style in drab blue jeans, nondescript pull-over tops, and sloppy jackets, still looking exactly alike (though not a in a good way) regardless of gender.
