Trump did something good (I suppose). Liked his words about “the same failed assumptions” too:
US President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that the United States new officially recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and will move its embassy there, breaking with longtime US policy and potentially threatening regional stability.
“Today we finally acknowledge the obvious, that Jerusalem is Israel’s capital. This is nothing more or less than a recognition of reality. It is also the right thing to do,” Trump said during a speech at the White House.

Yeah, Trump definitely made the right call on this!
As your linked article points out, Congress voted overwhelmingly to move the embassy way back in 1995 — but every President since then has signed waivers to delay actually doing it.
