It’s an interesting psychological phenomenon. I sleep the same number of hours here as at home and wake up without an alarm at the same hour. But because of the time difference, when I wake up the clock says 8:20 instead of 7:20. And it feels decadent and luxurious to sleep so late. As a result, I feel a lot more rested.
Amusing, yes. The logic our minds use is logical, but based often on hidden hypotheses!

It could well be because the daylight is stronger when you wake up at 8:20 where you are vs 7:20 at home. I know I always feel more rested during summer when it is lighter in the mornings, even though the total amount of sleep is the same as in the winter.
