At dinner, Klara stunned us with a completely unprompted, “Thank you, Mommy, for making this yummy food for Daddy and me.”
I didn’t teach her anything like this, I swear.

Aww. ❤
Perhaps the daycare or N taught her?
What did you make for dinner?

N is more likely to sprout wings and fly than to come up with something like this. 🙂
It was pasta and salmon for Klara. I swear I have other things in my repertoire. Just not today.

Well it’s not like they put her into a medical coma for safekeeping while she’s at daycare…
Partly to help fill up the day a big part of daycare is socialization and teaching manners, often through play (this is probably also partly to keep from going insane from dealing with too many untrained children)
BTW I was listening to a video where the Ukrainian immigrant I mentioned on my blog was comparing the environment for children in Poland and Ukraine… and apparently during the Soviet period (he was born around 1980) a significant percentage of those who worked with small children in Ukraine were rage-filled psychopaths with no sense of personal responsibility… which you’re probably already aware of, but…. yikes! Scary place for kids (I’m assuming/hoping it’s not as bad now).

Oh, yes, it’s absolutely true. Daycares were very scary places. There are so many horror stories I’ve heard.
