Amazing news from the UK. Boris Johnson is dropping vaccine passports and face masks, including in schools. He is saying “we must learn to live with COVID in the same way we live with flu,” which I could have told you two years ago but let’s not be petty.
This is wonderful. A smidgen of my faith on the Brits has been reestablished.
Who’s next on the path to sanity?
Crossy fingers that it’s Hochul.

Perhaps you mean the Dominions?

…and also 48% of Democrats support jail time or fines for people questioning vaccine efficacy in public, if the polls can be trusted.

“48% of Democrats support jail time or fines for people…”
Oh yeah?
Well three quarters of Canadians would deny COVID wrongdoers access to legal dope!
Beat that you bunch of red, white, and blue namby-pamby milksops!
“More than three-quarters of those surveyed, 77 per cent, said it would be acceptable to put in place restrictions barring those who would refuse a mandatory vaccination from entering public spaces like liquor and cannabis stories…”

“cannabis stories…”
I think I’ve heard a few of those.

Perhaps the National Post copy editor responsible for proofing this article has recently been visiting a few too many cannabis stories…

Can anybody explain the connection between the right to buy dope and. . . OK, never mind. That’s too deep of a rabbit hole for me to get into.

It is the opposite of deep. The vaccinated wish to coerce and punish those who refuse vaccines by depriving them of pleasures.

I’m trying to convince myself that these poll results were manipulated or outright falsified. Surely, it can’t be true?

From here:
https://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/partner_surveys/jan_2022/covid_19_democratic_voters_support_harsh_measures_against_unvaccinated
“– Nearly half (48%) of Democratic voters think federal and state governments should be able to fine or imprison individuals who publicly question the efficacy of the existing COVID-19 vaccines on social media, television, radio, or in online or digital publications.”
It’s Rasmussen, and it was a telephone poll. Whatever sampling bias is inherent in telephone polls is probably going on here, but other than that… I see no reason to doubt the results. Mainstream polls often go out of their way to marginalize the right, so if there’s a deliberate polling bias I would expect it to be toward making the progressive position seem more widely accepted than it really is– so maybe it’s not quite that horrible? I’m deeply curious about how that question was phrased, but not that optimistic about the 48% being outrageously fake. It seems to fall in line with the apparent views of the most vocal/public Democrats.
I desperately wanted that poll question to be followed up by “if scientists found that the vaccines were dangerous, should people be fined or jailed for questioning their safety on social media, television, radio…?”

Look on the bright side… 23% of Canadians are unwilling to banish COVID wrongdoers from cannabis stories.

Did you see the horrible video making the rounds that shows children in Quebec happily reciting the bad things that should be done to the unvaccinated? I feel great sorrow for them.
