The Anti-people Philosophy

It’s fascinating how much neoliberals hate people. The existence of people drives them around the bend. They are convinced that every problem at every organization is caused by there being too many workers. The recipe for every budget ill is to get rid of workers. The recipe for saving the planet is to reduce the number of people. Children should be castrated as early as possible to prevent the eventual appearance of additional people. During COVID, children and people who dared bring them into the world were punished the most. People keep wondering why monkeypox isn’t causing any calls for lockdowns. But gay sex doesn’t result in children, so it doesn’t annoy neoliberals.

Why neoliberalism is so anti-people I still don’t fully understand.

    Yes. Whatever justification for people reduction they’re into today is besides the point.

    It’s a spiritual illness: nothing really to live for, so they yearn for annihilation. Of everyone and everything.

    Not all people, they seem to find their own existence pretty necessary….

    I can make sense (in pure neoliberal terms) for some of their…. dislikes…

    Employees cost money that could be converted to cash on the spot, so get rid of them….

    Children are not active consumers, so…. who needs them? They’re also often a reason people aren’t at work and education costs money they don’t want to spend on anything but themselves….

    What I find…. ominous on how concerted the effort is to get large sectors of the population out of the work force….

    Women are no longer wanted (part of the trans movement is to embarrass/harass women out of public spaces)

    US Blacks are no longer wanted (which is why every policy taken up by them has horrible effects on Black Americans….

    If they ever go for Mexicans (last working class in the US) we’ll know they want us all dead

      Children do nothing but consume. I suspect the issue is people wanting more resources for their own children rather than other people’s children.

    Oh, I think what neoliberals hate about children is that they represent non-economic responsibilties. That is, one kind of goal is to turn every human relationship into an economic relationship and children get in the way of that since children are not economic actors.

    Marriage and religion are also both about non-economic bonds (of course economic interests are wound through both but they’re not the kind of economic relationship that neoliberals like.

    Some years ago I was briefly interested in figuring out money (I mean in an intellectual sense that is not that easy to explain here) and for part of that I picked up some issues of Forbes (which seemed very devoted to the idea).

    Two big surprises:
    Forbes reminded me of nothing as much as it did religious propaganda (especially Jehovah’s Witness literature). I wasn’t expecting that.
    There was an… idological thread running through it. Making money wasn’t always approved of, it had to be done in a certain way which was never fully explained but a lot of it could be intuited from reading enough.

    But here’s your descent into depravity: just like overthinking Trump and overallocating space for TrumpLuvv or TrumpHate is a strange little fetish, so is that father figure thing where we’re playing political Who’s The Daddy games as well.

    All of that’s eventually obvious and wonderful to notice, but here’s the fetish that’s so easily missed …

    The neoliberal worships at the altar of the Mechanism, a notional form of a machine, which operates via a theoretical economic basis in which the neoliberal turns into a fetish all of the warped forms of hate and fear of the imperfect that may be altered via economics.

    Why else would these people build a leaky “economic computer” that uses dyed water and then worship its output until some people put some sense into them?

    IT’S SO PERFECT

    JUST LIKE ITS PERFECT FAILURE

    You only think it’s cynical because you haven’t realised how accurately sinister it is.

    See, this is what happens when I’m slightly drunk and buzzed from an overstimulated introversion that’s had a pleasant evening.

    I get these ideas like seeing if we can get bankers with kinks to splosh down $5k an hour on us LARPing as central bankers feeding them candy Monopoly money while telling them how Mommy and Daddy want them to say that they’re very, very sorry.

    And this little voice I hear nearby as I describe this says “with or without whips” … 🙂

    It is economics. Once the middle class is eviscerated, becoming neither a worker nor a consumer, the natural question is how to thin the herd of UBI receivers and potential rioting / chaotic masses.

    Even Russian bloggers are into this:

    Логично в таком случае, что под нож идут европейские и американские бюргеры, которых буквально спускают в подвал. Вот прямо сейчас в Германии обсуждается переход к принципиально новой социальной системе (так называемой Bürgergeld вместо действующей системы Hartz IV). Это тот самый «базовый доход», фактически система, позволяющая человеку существовать на пособие от государства, но при жестком исполнении им целого перечня обязанностей. Фактически новое крепостное право, только теперь вместо конкретного феодала человек прикрепляется к самой системе социального обеспечения.

    От идей Давосского форума начинается переход к их практическому воплощению. Эта система станет базовой для стран Первого мира, в Третий мир будут спускать её отдельные фрагменты. Остальное человечество, не охваченное подобными системами, будет буквально обречено, так как оно попросту не будет вписано ни в новую распределительную экономику, ни в системы социального обеспечения (пускай даже на уровне этого нового крепостного права). И начнет быстро, во вполне обозримые сроки, уменьшаться количественно. Как там сказал Чубайс — чего их жалеть, они не вписались. Будут новые.

      “Economic” here is a description, not a cause, though.

      You have people who, in their hearts, believe that the problem is other people.

      This is the default state of sin, no? The path to repentance is inverting this, and learning to say: the problem is me… let me identify how I am contributing to the problem and ask forgiveness for it. Once I turn the focus inward, realize that I am the chief of sinners… this opens the door to loving others. If the problem is others, how can I love them? No, I despise them because they cause all the problems.

      Until I do that necessary spiritual work, and let God heal the wounds of my sin… the problem is other people.

      Ran across something related last night, in Sayings of the Desert Fathers: “A brother asked Abba Poemen, ‘How is it possible for a man to avoid speaking evilly to his neighbour?’ The old man answered and said to him, ‘We and our brothers possess two images. Whensoever a man condemns himself, his brother appears to him beautiful and excellent; but whensoever a man appears beautiful to himself, his brother will be found to be, in his sight, hateful and abominable.’ “
