Well, Obama only bailed out Goldman Sachs, so we are on a much better path with Biden. Maybe one day we’ll get to see a bailout for the people who actually need it.

It’s a relief, though, that all the fears that Obama would control the Biden presidency behind the curtains turned out to be unfounded. The Biden administration ended up being extremely different in every way. And that’s good.

Also, let’s give credit where credit is due: there’s no pressure against the unvaccinated, no rumblings of a lockdown, no massively woke legislation. This is a lot better than I feared. Which doesn’t mean it’s perfect but it could have been worse.

It would be great to find a similarly calm attitude on the other side and hear an occasional recognition that Trump created no disaster or calamity either.

    One thing I give credit to Obama is he ended his presidency and pretty much fucked off. Same with Bush. I just hate these politicians who just can’t let go.

    Yeah, overall he turned out pretty decent on his approach to COVID.

    The nightmare scenario that you feared is happening in China right now. But I guess that really was to be expected.

    This is our president. The whole rest of the world is about to turn on us, claws out, over the virus/vaccine debacle– we will be damn lucky if all they do is drop the petrodollar and stand by laughing while our economy implodes. Whoever is running the President-Biden puppet show does not appear to have an exit plan. I don’t think that walking corpse is going to last until midterms– though they’re clearly trying to hang in there for it. Parts are gonna start falling off. Maggots are going to crawl out of his nose on live TV. Someone’s going to trip over his extension cord and unplug him.

    If they had any kind of exit plan, they’d have executed it by now and stopped trying to reanimate a demented husk for public appearances.

    I’m not even sure it matters what policy is, at the moment. This isn’t going to end well.

      I feel we’ve passed some awful threshold this week, and my stomach clenches trying to trace where that trajectory leads. Nowhere good. Right now is just hangtime. There’s no floor under us. Pray.

    There are hundreds of colleges where you can not attend if not vaccinated AND boosted. Nurses in NYS can’t work without being vaccinated. All workers in NYC are required to be vaccinated or have gotten an exemption (at whim of employer) and the enforcement has been left vague so no one knows where they stand. Firefighters and police I believe have been fired. In DC children are supposed to be COVID vaccinated to attend school this fall.

    So I can not agree with your take on the unvaccinated.

    …Also, Nikole Flax just got promoted at the IRS. She’ll be in charge of those 87k new armed agents. She’s one of the six employees whose hard drives just happened to get erased when the IRS was being investigated for political targeting of conservative organizations.

    No, I can’t feel neutral about that.
