Russians are so happy that their oligarchs were drone-attacked by mysterious forces that one almost wishes it hadn’t happened. Propagandists are begging them to stop celebrating because it’s a bad look.
It looks like if the US promised to catch every Russian oligarch and rape him with a broom in the Red Square, every Russian soldier would lay down the arms immediately.

Didn’t Putin come to power and become so popular because of how badly he treated the oligarchs?
It definitely is a common thread that they absolutely hate the oligarchs, and that is very much justified.

The oligarchs (known as “the 7 bankers”) brought him to power initially because he’s such a stupid, weak pawn. But he managed to sic them onto each other. They weren’t real oligarchs because they didn’t make their own fortunes. So it was easy even for Putin to handle them. He was left with the 3 from the initial 7 and added a few more. Of course, the regular people detest them.
The best way to make Russian people insanely angry is to say something like “Moscow is very beautiful.” They go off their rockers because they perceive Moscow as a place where the people who robbed them live.
Even N, when I say he’s from Moscow, always responds, “No! I’m from the Moscow Oblast! I’m not from Moscow! I have nothing to do with it!”
