The Customs office of the Dominican Republic asks if you are “male, female, or other” at the entrance. Not surprisingly, this was imposed on the Dominican people by the exact same individuals who claim to be against imperialism.
The Dominicans don’t have a choice. They need tourism money and can’t upset the entitled American and Canadian “other gender” drama queens.
What a shame, though. What an absolute shame it is to be that kind of person.
I suppose it makes sense that since imperialist were responsible for stamping out the other gender they would be responsible for its reinstitution.

I’m confused. I’ve never been to the Dominican Republic, but I’ve been through customs in a bunch of countries and no one has ever asked me about my gender. Why does the Dominican Republic need to ask anything?

Seems like noncompliance might help deter some of the seedier types of tourism.
