N and Klara got locked in the local bookstore. They were sitting on the floor between the book stacks, absorbed in their reading, and didn’t notice it was closing time and everybody had left.
I don’t often feel envy but being locked in a bookstore is supposed to be my personal fantasy.

We are a small town, everybody knows us. They called, and a store worker came back at once and let them out.

I once got locked in my college library because I was reading newspapers from the 30s, in the bowels of the dark microfilm room. I guess they didn’t check. When I emerged, all the lights were off, and everybody was gone- but I did get everything I needed for the research paper in one go, so yay for that.
Fortunately, fire safety rules mean all the doors have crash bars, so I had no trouble leaving.
