Eternal Unrest

Gosh, she even made his grave all about her need to exhibit herself.

I hope the guy had no children.

A Pseudo Wave

Once again, people started sending messages “I had COVID last week”. I have no idea what reaction they expect. I also don’t understand what can make somebody who had COVID twice before and got vaccinated 6 times start getting tested when she gets the sniffles. Or when somebody around her gets the sniffles. Where do people even get these tests?

Free or Not Free?

In our university’s policy book, we have a statement that we respect free speech laws and that students should learn to tolerate uncomfortable and unpleasant speech. Even “abhorrent speech, including manifestations of racism and sexism” must be tolerated, the policy says.

But then a few paragraphs down we are informed that expressions of “racism, sexism, ableism, classism, heterosexism, homophobia” and so on will be severely punished.

The administration is refusing to clarify which part of the policy is correct, even though we are in the midst of a lawsuit filed by a student whom the faculty persecuted for expressing her beliefs.

Blessed Stalin

After we saw holy icons featuring Stalin, we shouldn’t be surprised but still.

This is all vomit-inducing.

New Selfie Genre

There’s a new genre of selfie in Russia. People travel to the destroyed Mariupol to pose against the background of bombed out buildings. Young people, families with kids.

They actually travel there, spend money, bring kids to get a pic for their social media.

I don’t post any photos with kids because I respect these children more than their parents do. But can you imagine?

Then there are the videos, which are even scarier. Young families, giggly, excited. Holding up toddlers to give them a better look. “We are on our way to the beach, and we just had to drop by to see this. What an opportunity! Ha ha!”

Imagine a mom who’d purposefully take kids to a city filled with charred, hollowed out buildings. Would you take a child you love? Forget about the mental impact. What about physical danger? Anything can explode or collapse on your head at any time. There’s got to be something very powerful to make people pay money to take their kids there.

After Putin dies, what happens to all these people? Do they magically get cured? Babies in fatigue onesies, rolled out to military parades in their strollers. 5-year-olds marching and chanting military songs. 7-year-olds whose whole lives happened in wartime and whose big family road trip was to the bombed out Mariupol. Memories of the Dad, proud and solemn. “See all these ruins, son? We defeated Nazis here. Once again, we, Russians, saved the world.”

How often do people realize they were wrong? And not about something trivial but something like this. Will we once again hope that “free market and democracy” will be the magical cure? How is that different from our resident magical thinker placing 273 signs all over the campus?

The Snow White Drama

Both sides of the political spectrum have lost their you-know-whats completely.

I finally looked up that actress, Rachel Zegler, the so-called “not white Snow White”. And she’s clearly white. A daughter of a Pole and a Colombian. How exactly does one get whiter than a Pole, I should ask?

It’s disturbing that people are so brainwashed by the very American “one drop” theory of race that their thinking gets clouded. This woman is white everywhere on the planet, including in Colombia.

This reminds me of that blond British-Argentinean actress who was hyped as “a person of color”. I mean, a very pale color is still color but both Left and Right are cuckoo on this subject.

273 Update

When I told N about our admin’s 273 magical thinking trick, it turned out he knows all about this trend. I have no idea how he comes by this knowledge, given that he’s been working from home since COVID and doesn’t have friends but he’s got cutting-edge information on a wide variety of topics.

So N says that another favorite trick of this corporate voodoo crowd is to hang underwear on the chandelier. Every time you notice it, it attracts your attention because it’s weird. And that reminds you of your goal, always keeping it at the forefront of your mind.

I tend to fixate on things obsessively, so I don’t get needing reminders of my goals. Are people really that scattered that they need panties on lighting fixtures to focus on what they want to do?

Immoral at New York Times

Oh, New York Times. As stupid and dishonest as ever.

OK, here goes. Ksenia is the daughter of the St Petersburg mayor who first gave Putin a government position. We would all be “Putin who?” without this fellow.

Ksenia has spent the last 20 years spreading a rumor that she’s Putin’s goddaughter, which Putin never denied. Or confirmed but who cares when she’s been able to self-promote massively on the basis of this rumor.

She’s been known as an influencer and TV hostess, as well as one of those oligarch mistresses that pass from one rich dude to another. It’s clearly not her beauty that attracts oligarchs in droves. But she has a proximity to Putin, so who cares that she looks like a horse?

Ksenia has helped the Putin regime in every possible way, including working to create an illusion of elections in Russia at some point.

You’ve got to be either completely unprofessional (and banned from Google) or a shameless stooge to lionize this distasteful “vagina for hire” and present her as some sort of an anti-Putin fighter. And letting her amplify the lies about the invincibility of the regime she so faithfully serves is simply immoral.

And before you say, OK, who cares about some stupid Ksenia Sobchak, ask yourself why you assume that the rest of the stories the paper publishes are any less rotten.

273

All of a sudden, signs saying “273” appeared all over campus. That’s all they say, “273”.

The first time I saw “273” was by the parking lot. Immediately, I panicked. 273! What does it mean? Should I not park here? We have been having major parking lot renovations, so it’s confusing.

But then I saw the “273” sign everywhere. Nobody had any idea what it meant. And especially why money was spent on letting us know that it’s 273 o’clock in the midst of a severe budget crisis.

A week later, the top administrator explained. 273 is the number of students we need to recruit or retain or whatever for him to have good numbers for his yearly report. And he ordered these signs to keep the number at the forefront of everybody’s minds because that’s somehow magically supposed to make the number come true.

It’s clearly something he learned at the business seminars that come up with these new fads. They teach you to plaster every wall with your desired profit, and that’s supposed to condition people to attain it.

It’s all stupid, corporate voodoo that has exactly zero place at a higher learning institution where we should be in favor of rationality and reason.

Deadly Initiatives

All of these leftist initiatives – the BLM, the “green turn”, the gender idiocy, etc – end up hurting and even killing people. They aren’t simply illogical and stupid. They are deadly. They exist to serve the vanity of humans who want to believe they are in complete control of reality. We are paying a heavy, tragic price for their insane hubris.
