During the past week, woke has suffered its biggest blow so far. It’s a self-inflicted blow, and it’s very severe. Woke is losing the Jews. Greeting terror attacks in Israel with glee at worst and “yes but” at best is causing a mass disillusionment of the most active and productive faction of the left.
Once the Jews are gone, what’s left on the far left (pardon the pun) will be massively ineffectual and useless.
Now is a great time not to antagonize these suddenly politically homeless Jews by saying anything deeply moronic.
You said yesterday that fast reaction time was crucial from pov of Israeli international image, yet it looks like we cannot be fast in ground invasion.
One reason is the correct desire not to endanger our soldiers due to lack of preparation and equipment: “The military said it was finalizing the call-up of hundreds of thousands of reservists, as the logistics directorate is working to provide troops with all the equipment they will need for the ground offensive.”
On another site I read that current cloudy weather would prevent our pilots from giving full help to soldiers on the ground.
Lastly, we say any ground operation will take weeks. Imo, not starting now gives time for more Palestinians to leave the war zone. Waiting weakens our position, yet invading among Palestinian population w/o giving them time to evacuate would weaken it even more.
Update on humanitarian situation in Gaza –
// Energy Minister Israel Katz said on Sunday that a decision to renew water supplies to parts of southern Gaza was agreed on between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Joe Biden. Energy Minister Israel Katz said that the decision to partially renew water supplies was in line with Israeli policy, which is to tighten a blockade on the Hamas-ruled territory. (Reuters)
When we cut off water, it was all over the news.
Doubt this update will be known just as widely.

An interesting interview:
// ‘We’ve created a monster, the strongest force in the region, and they hit us very hard’
Very few people know Hamas better than Avi Issacharoff but even he was shocked by success of its murderous attack; Fauda creator explains why Netanyahu’s strategy collapsed, what he learned from Gaza’s most-wanted about their attitude toward Israeli captives, and how, in the best-case scenario, we might emerge from all of this wiser and united

Never fear, I’m sure American Conservatives will find a way to alienate them.

That’s what I fear.
Without liberal Jews (which is all Jews except the Hasidim and Ben Shapiro), there is no wokeness. Now is the best time to peel them away from the wokeness.
Matt Walsh posted a brilliant video of a campus agitator insisting that “white supremacists” always bring Israeli flags to their gatherings. I hope many, many Jews see this and realize that they will always be white supremacists to their closest allies.

Could you expand upon it? I’ve seen variations of it on social media and they all strike me as bordering on anti-semitism, haha.

I’m allowed to say it because I’m half Jewish, so I just go ahead and say it. We know this well in academia. Behind every single woke initiative are the Jewish professors and their henchmen who are second, or better yet, third generation Hispanics. It’s very, very unpleasant to recognize but it’s a fact. We are living in the middle of boondocks, we have the tiniest number of Jewish faculty outside of rural Alabama, yet every mega woke faculty member has a last name like Zielberstein.
I spent many years trying not to notice. But I quit pretending a while ago.
Gosh, look at the list of the Weather Underground members. It gets really funny after a point.

Short and informative about our plans for Gaza —

OT (in case you’re interested):
Polish election results (exit polls not final results) more or less what I expected.
PiS (ruling) about 37% (I was thinking they’d get 35 or so) not enough to govern by themselves and their only probably coalition party had 7 %
The three allied opposition groups have just over 51%
I’m assuming PiS will try to form a minority government but I assume that will fail….
Shouldn’t affect support for Ukraine (strong across all parties except the pro-russian 7% party).

Election in Poland! I’m neck-deep in my Arabic drama and I forgot all else. Thank you for the update!
I was reading an article in Polish for my research today, and it went much better than usual because my Ukrainian has improved.

РОБЕРТ РОЖДЕСТВЕНСКИЙ «ПОДСЛУШАННЫЙ РАЗГОВОР»
— Снова дралась во дворе?..
— Aга!

OT, but in case it’s of interest, it looks like our governor has, on his own initiative, used the same charter jet service he’s been hiring to ship illegals out of our state, to fly 300 Americans (not just from our state!) home from Israel, gratis. Meanwhile, the best our fedgov can do is boat them to Cyprus, bill them for it later, and leave them to find their own way back home.
Arguably, a publicity stunt with public money… but since half the affluent in America just moved here, we’re awash in tax revenues right now. There are worse ways to spend it than showing up the fedgov and, incidentally, helping evacuate our citizens from a warzone.

“The Times of Israel” writes “It was not clear how many graffiti incidents there were in total, but photographs of at least three targeted buildings were shared on social media.”
The thing is we Israelis haven’t started yet the elimination of Hamas.

I’m about to interview a Palestinian to work for us because it’s our only option right now. This is going to be… something.

Would be interested to hear what’s your experience with Palestinians in America.
Of course, don’t think American university workers represent an average person in Gaza.
Why something? You’ll talk about Spain, no?
Btw, when you say ‘a Palestinian’, you don’t mean somebody currently living in Gaza or West Bank, right?

It’s a Fulbrighter, so she’s got to be directly from there. Not an immigrant, for sure.
What worries me is that I’ve already lost one Arabic lecturer because she suddenly developed a host of mental issues. I don’t want to hire a new one and go through the same drama again. I just want to finish out the semester in relative peace.
