Это стихотворение Натана Альтермана не было опубликовано при жизни поэта; его дочь, Тирца Атар, нашла листок в ящике стола, разбирая бумаги отца уже после его внезапной смерти.
И действительно, вскоре после блестящей победы в Шестидневной войне общественное сознание Израиля обнаружило первые трещины в прежде монолитном сознании собственной правоты. Что уж тогда говорить о нашем времени: сейчас, почти полвека спустя, слова Альтермана звучат с еще большей актуальностью.
И сказал сатана:
«Как мне справиться с этим героем?
Он отважен, могуч
и всегда снаряжён перед боем…
Нет, болезни ему не пошлю,
не наполню бессилием тело.
Обойдусь без сетей и цепей,
не сломаю доспехи и стрелы…
Лишь заставлю забыть правоту –
правоту его правого дела».
Так сказал он, и небо
пролило бессильные слёзы,
когда встал сатана
к исполнению этой угрозы.

Voters 18 – 34 years old disapprove (51 – 39 percent) of the United States sending weapons and military equipment to Israel in response to the Hamas terrorist attack, while voters 35 – 49 years old (59 – 35 percent), voters 50 – 64 years old (77 – 17 percent), and voters 65 years of age and over (78 – 15 percent) approve.

I just had an older African American waiter at a restaurant who saw my backpack with a huge Ukrainian flag say to me, “We all care about Israel but that doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten about Ukraine. We are with you until the victory.” I almost started crying because there’s nothing better anybody can say right now.
I’m not wearing my Mogen David, so there’s no way for anyone to guess at my Jewish origin.

I am glad to hear he thinks everybody cares about Israel. I’ve read many disheartening things about Israel’s long term American prospects, so at least some people are nice.

And he also volunteered it for no reason and completely on the spot. I now have two things to feel abjectly grateful for when people express support.
Most people know in their hearts what’s right. All you need is a moral compass that’s at least somewhat functional.

So when their chosen heroes — the freedom fighters in whom they invested so much moral cachet — showed up at a concert and started beheading raver kids and Asian workers and abducting grandmas and God knows what else, what were Western leftists supposed to do? In situations like that there are really only two things you can do, without switching your whole ideology — you either tell yourself that your team’s inhumanity is justified in the name of higher goals, and march shoulder to shoulder in the streets with the most belligerent elements, or you pull back and call on both sides to avoid killing civilians. Left-leaning leaders chose the latter, but many on the grassroots chose the former.

An excellent article. Really outstanding. There’s a complete moral collapse we are observing. Most people can’t develop and uphold their own moral code. There needs to be something to hold them together from the outside. Or they fall apart into… this.

И рождение, и аборт – всё под запретом
Сегодня по радио весь день с большой помпой рассказывали о триумфальном завершении «процесса века», который длился аж 3 года – «Дела о суррогатных матерях». Суть дела я сразу понял, поскольку помню самые первые сообщения об этом, еще в 2020 году – что полиция «накрыла» некий Центр Суррогатного материнства, там были суррогатные матери с младенцами, оказавшимися детьми неких китайцев. И всех арестовали, а китайцев, которые приехали забирать своих детей, арестовали тоже. Вот и всё – интересно было узнать, чем дело кончилось.
