It’s got to be COVID, what I have. I’m not eating and the only moments in my life when I don’t want to eat is when I have COVID or after I give birth. And I definitely didn’t give birth recently.
The worst part is that final grades are due on Monday at noon, and I’m responsible for the grades of all our 9 languages. And I’m starting to teach my winter course on Monday. And my brain doesn’t work. I have to make a gigantic effort to complete the simplest operations. Plus, I’m sure that not eating isn’t helping with concentration.
What can be delegated or delayed? You may simply have to cancel the first day of class. It won’t do much good for you to be there sick, brainless and miserable.

Thankfully, it’s one of those asynchronous online courses. I’m definitely not fit to be not only around people but even to drive a car.

Or it could be RSV which is peaking in the Midwest now …

It’s a very nasty thing, whatever it is.

The big difference is that RSV is commonplace around children, so adults can pick it up again.
Often these little viral horrors are a sign that something’s a bit lacking when it comes to nutrition.
I very rarely get this kind of stuff, especially since it turns out I’m immune to coronaviruses (and yes, especially that one), but when it happens it’s because of extenuating circumstances.
So right now I’m dealing with one of these, picked up outside the US, and it’s in part caused by not getting my usual vitamins and supplements, particularly zinc picolinate which would help suppress this kind of viral activity.
Having been on multiple post-recovery antibiotics also didn’t help, but at least this time my memory is OK.
I wonder if “antibiotic resistance” is actually caused by nylon plastics.
BTW, you do know that the feedstock for nylon manufacturing is caprolactam, a lactam made from caproic acid?
Oh, but that’s just a Crackpot Theory. 🙂
Also BTW, RSV probably won’t kill you unless you were tempting death anyway, so there’s that.
I’m amused by this thing where “la grippe” has been replaced with “the Rona”, it’s so very French. 🙂
