Bumbling and Stumbling

Poor Tucker Carlson is already being disproved by the Kremlin before his interview with Putin even aired.

In the announcement of the interview, Carlson claimed that no Western journalist has “bothered” to ask for an interview so far to hear what Putin has to say. The Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said today that this is completely untrue and that there have been many such requests. The reason why the interviews never took place is because the Kremlin has denied all requests.

I don’t know what’s going on with Tucker. The efforts to interview Putin are widely known. So are Putin’s refusals. It was easy to predict that this claim would be immediately disproved. He’s setting himself up to be humiliated for no reason.

  1. Clarissa, nothing has happened to Tucker Carlson. He has always been like this, just giant attention whore.

I’m glad you’re no longer gushing after him.

  2. “efforts to interview Putin”

Was seeing items on this in generalsvr (usual caveats apply). They don’t quite say it outright but the suggestion is that russia has commissioned the interview in order to help Trump (who patrushev sees as a savior). It also claims there has already been one run through that was terrible and it’s being redone and neither is supposed to deviate from the prepared script.

There’ve been crazier things written there that later played out…

“for some unfathomable reason, decided to flush his potential”

He’s like Trump… Trump never actually realized why people were voting for him and never understood what he was tapping into. He thought it was his great personality and so he built no wall and made his loathesome neoliberal son-in-law a major advisor….

Same thing with Carlson… he seems to think it’s his persona that drew people to him and not the stories he was telling (about things like vulture capitalism).

Hubris and disconnect in both cases.

    1. Tucker had such potential. What a waste.

We can see on his example how no amount of intelligence and talent can overcome failings of personality. IQ is mega important on the level of groups but in terms of individual lives it amounts to absolutely nothing if you have personality flaws that you don’t try to address.
