Thinking a tiny bit more about Navalny… I’m thinking that what he represented for a lot of people (maybe not consicously) was not that he would be a great (or even good or even passable) president but that he might be a kind of transitional figure who would leave office eventually other than the traditional russian ways (palace coup or death or both) and then might be followed by other non-for-life presidents….
I’m getting a kind of…. early 80s vibe. When Andropov (who many hoped would be a transitional figure to more modern thinking) died people had high hopes for Gorbachev succeeding him and then it was Chernenko and everybody just kind of… died inside a little.
Gorbachev eventually did get in and was kind of a transitional figure and if not for the faked election in 1996 and the selection of putain by scared oligarchs…. but russians are gonna russian, so……. no chance of becoming an even semi-democratic country.

There was this great series on Feygin’s YouTube channel called “The Occult Kremlin.” It’s very enlightening. I only wish Tucker would watch. This would wash the belief in Putin as a champion of Orthodoxy right out of his head.
