No, this is not a post on the evils of online prostitution. The woman in the picture is a probate judge who has been removed from her job in Georgia for systemic incompetence. She put a woman in jail – IN JAIL – for trying to amend her weeding license to include the name of her real father she had recently discovered. She threatened people, behaved erratically, and posted inappropriate photos, soliciting cash gifts from strangers.
After the review board voted unanimously to remove Judge Christina Peterson, she predictably claimed that the board members were racist.
It’s not remotely possible to post all of the stories that show a sad degradation of our most important institutions. Illiterate university presidents, whorish judges, congresswomen descended from horses (or Russia’s propagandist Lavrov, it’s hard to be sure, because the likeness is too strong in both cases). Incompetent, embarrassing, stupid people screeching and wailing about their victimhood at every corner.
in other words the socialists are winning because the destruction of our institutions from within has been the plan for 100 years

The horse daughter is hardly a socialist.

I’m sorry but I’m dying of curiosity – who is the horse-faced congresswoman being talked about? (I don’t follow politics and have no idea who might be trending at the moment.)

Nah, she doesn’t look like an FAS case. Good philtrum definition, eyes aren’t weird in that down-at-the-edges way.

Then it’s a horse, as I initially thought. Or Mr Lavrov, although that’s worse than an equine ancestor.

“she doesn’t look like an FAS case”
Just morally rotten to the core. There is no way a normal, non-corrupt person goes all in for russia at the present time.
She’s either incredibly stupid or just plain evil.
No other options.

She’s probably both. I can’t understand anybody in full possession of their mental faculties simping for Russia. There’s no reason or logic to it other than childish, pouty contrarianism.

MTG is too rabid to be doing it for money. I don’t think she’s that good an actress. I think it’s a labor of love. Perverted, vile sort of love.

Baby Reindeer (6-7 a mini omnibus, warning: loooong). I like the father straight away. He doesn’t put up with crap he just threatens to cut your legs off. Second per second of screen time no other character gets as much bang for the buck.
On the other hand, it’s a bit like wondering why your friend acts so weird and then you meet their parents and it’s all clear…. But only a bit because I think the writer is holding back… a lot (I don’t blame him he’s so brave that I’m happy to forgive him lapses.
Anyway, Mom can’t say anything negative and Dad is gonna cut your legs off and you’re not gonna quit because that means Martha wins and what do you think, he’s made of money? And for all the times you’re screaming mentally for Donny to do something! When he finally decides to do something you realize it’s going to be a rolling disaster and he doesn’t disappoint. He seems a little disappointed when he realizes Martha is a pro…. it would be so much more satisfying to be the target of an amateur stalker who’s purely in it for love you you.
I never liked Teri as much as when she lets him have and points out how much he’s into Martha being into him (and the self-loathing and repression that makes that possible). Yeah, as a therapist she makes as much sense as a 500 lb dietician but I was very glad when she dumped him. And then Donny once more misreads the situation disastrously…. Those who have been deprived of self-esteem will guard what little they have with blood… your blood to be specific. He fvkks around and finds out in spectacular fashion.
Not completely sure I bought the breakdown as presented. The actor is great but I kept expecting more audience reaction. I’m not sure if I buy the father’s ‘confession’… I kind of think he’s just saying it to show misguided solidarity with his son (which makes me like him all the more). And his final “Good luck with the transsexual!” is maybe the best single line of the whole series. Love him so much.
Years ago I read a sociology article about how people (especially Americans?) like to turn their lives into a story where they’ve finally reached some goal (and how the biography is periodically changed).
The rest of the last episode seems like an illustration of that with his remark discounting his recent fame. And also the last half of the last episode is all about he hasn’t left the abuse behind and is still seeking it out as in the wall devoted to Martha.
I still like Keeley, may not a great girlfriend but a pretty good adopted-sister telling her brother that mom wouldn’t mind if he moved back in, so she can fill the role that Martha had taken. And then he goes back to Darrien… and it’s obvious he doesn’t know why. Despite the growth… he still craves abuse.
The final scene is ambiguous but beyond showing he hasn’t gotten past the trauma I need to think more about it… Has anyone pointed out that in very weird way the last interaction seems to be between Darrien (bartender) and Martha (Donny)?

I did not catch the likeness between Darrien and the bartender. But now that you say it, it’s absolutely there and this changes my perception of the ending. The two sides of Donny’s dysfunction meet. Does that mean healing? Or does it mean he has to make a choice between his gay side and his straight side?
I agree that the breakdown scene was weird. Would people just sit there quietly for such a long time? Wouldn’t the organizers try to cut off the sound and wrap up the scene?
I also find the theme of the parents under-explored. The Dad is phenomenal. He’s a really good actor. Everybody is an excellent actor here. But there must be a reason for Donny’s dysfunction because it clearly predates Darrien. And we get no answer. I think that Donny doesn’t know the answer himself, which is why he tries to find it in Martha’s behavior and Darrien’s. He obsesses about them because the answer simply isn’t there but he wants it to be.
That look between Martha and Donny in the courtroom is very pregnant. Which reminds me that when he has to come up with a reason why he couldn’t be with Martha, he immediately blurted out that it’s because she’s too old to give him a child. These blurted out truths are usually real.
Great show, and everything is really spot on. Outstanding work.
I really enjoyed watching and discussing this with you! Let’s do it again but this time you choose what to watch.

This is one of those WTF things that could only happen in current times, at first glance that looks like an ad for a weird escort service that specializes in fetishes. But seriously, that doesn’t look like any sort of lawyer unless they defend hookers or pimps, I can’t imagine she’d have any other sort of legal clients

Have you seen the testimony of Fani Willis, the Atlanta DA prosecuting trump who’s being investigated for corruption? (using city $ to pay her boyfriend’s fake company for legal work). It’s painful to watch. Certified sub-100 IQ. Rappers are more well-spoken. These are the people responsible for maintaining law and order in large cities of america.
Judges need to have sombre personalities. This is not a profession meant for irascible ghetto “YAS QUEEN!!” trash who have no control over their emotions.

This is quite extraordinary. I have no idea what she even said. Is this a pose or is it genuine?
In either case, it’s disturbing.

This is the legal mind of the DA of one of the largest cities in america. We are doomed. I would bet my life her LSAT score would be in the bottom 25 percentile.

Also note that they are elected by the people. The judge that you posted about is standing for reelection and she’ll win again. But the dysfunction in these cities will be blamed on white supremacy, never mind that the it’s been decades since the last time cities like Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, Maryland, etc. were controlled by someone other than black democrats.
