The Price of Weakness

Yes, actions have consequences. The collapse of the Western presence in Niger is a very big deal and will have profoundly negative consequences. The US is being perceived as traversing its weakest moment right now. We can repeat ad nauseam how successful our withdrawal from Afghanistan and the rest of our foreign policy is but these fairy tales aren’t persuading anybody else.

  1. Well, should we have stayed in Afghanistan? It was a huge money sink and it’s not like the Afghan government was actually capable of surviving or fighting for very long without our help, even against a bunch of primitive rag-tag cavemen.

Would we have been able to pour in as much money and resources into Ukraine had we still been in Afghanistan right now?

    1. A withdrawal didn’t have to be a pathetic, humiliating, chaotic mess. There’s a world of possibilities between staying and withdrawing in such a garbled manner.
