Evil needs a philosophical justification, a collective recognition of its appropriateness. It seeks the moral sanction from God.
Dmitry Bykov, VZ
This is precisely why evil will, time and again, inflict itself on everybody’s notice. It acts in showy ways because it needs everybody to become complicit. By making us look at its actions in silent impotence, it receives our seal of approval.
Above everything else, evil needs to convince us that, not only it has been approved by God but that it is God, making and unmaking reality in its own image.
Bykov born in the wake of the June 1967 Six Day War which changed the face of the Middle East and made Israel a key player in Middle Eastern politics. His collections of novels and poetry blend realism and modernist elements into a nice fragrant aroma. Bykov makes a connection between Boris Pasternak, Maxim gorky, and Bulat Okudzhava.
Pasternak, wrote the novel Doctor Zhivago in ’58. Gorky died under the Stalin dictatorship and show trials. Many consider him the founder of the socialist realism literary method. Okudzhava did in 1997. The Georgian-Armenian heritage colors his experiences during WWII. Many of his songs popular during the Soviet dissident movement.
Bykov often draws connections between historical events and literary themes, highlighting the cyclical nature of Russian history and its impact on literature according to Wikipedia. Bykov’s writings attempts to weave a connection of these 3 lives and legacies within the broader context of Russian literary and political history.
Bykkov’s outspoken stance against the Putin regime has led to his designation as a “foreign agent” by the Russian government according to the University of Rochester. Needless to say his activism made him sometime a controversial figure in modern Russian culture. His ability to blend literary talent with sharp political commentary continues to resonate both within and beyond Russia.

These people despise their own candidate. They think she needs a massive amount of cheating to even have a chance.
