More and More Narrative

These people, honestly:

Narrative, narrative. It’s all about narrative. It’s all about finding the right words. The possibility that it isn’t about words but actions doesn’t even cross their minds.

I will confess that I did not manage to read the article in full because I got to the part where the author informs us that “illegal immigration rates are now lower than they were during the Trump administration”, and there’s a limit to how much lying anybody who is not a Democrat can process.

  1. Meanwhile, in “the only democracy in the Middle East”, politicians are protesting for the right to sexually assault detainees! Such a sick society.

            1. What I’m often curious about is whether you react this way to Israeli misbehaviour because it embarrasses you and you’re ashamed, or because you condone it and you’d rather it continue without commentary. It’s often hard to tell — which is crazy because you’re not Israeli. There’s no reason why you can’t make fun of/condemn it it the same way you make fun of every other ridiculousness in the world or in the US.

This deliberate blindspotting of yourself in public just makes it hard to take anything else you say about any other community seriously. And it’s so easy to do.

It also provides real mirth to observe from the outside

              1. But why should I care if you take me seriously or mind that you experience real mirth? I’m happy for you, please enjoy. Mirth is good.

        1. Shhh don’t pierce her illusions. She doesn’t like when people do that. Best to keep quiet and pretend that Israel is a moral society, not one currently run by moral degenerates.

          1. A moral society is not one where terrible things don’t happen but one where terrible things are discussed and condemned.

I’m still waiting for Palestinians – even the wealthy and long emigrated ones – to investigate and comdemn October 7 without yes-butting it immediately.

            1. Not just condemned though, but actually acted upon. The settlements in the West Bank has been condemned for years. So has the violence on Palestinians. There are protests on the streets every day for new elections, and the degenerates continue to remain in power. At some point — like we say about Gaza — we have to blame a society for the leaders it keeps in power. Unless you want us to stop doing that, which is fine with me, either with Palestinians or Israelis. But it seems to me that you only like to keep that privilege so as to condemn Palestine, while giving Israel a pass. That’s the problem.

              1. It’s a good idea to reread and edit before posting because I very sincerely have no idea what you are trying to say here. Writing in complete sentences and avoiding fragments always helps. So does making sure every pronoun has a clear antecedent.
