JD Vance unveiled his plan on Ukraine. It’s identical to Obama’s Ukraine policy. Giving Russia everything it wants and freezing the conflict along the existing control lines. The Obama policy failed, as we have all seen. It will fail again.
The funny part is that nobody can afford to notice that JD Vance is plagiarizing Obama. The left can’t let the sainted Obama be tarnished by an association with JD Vance and the right is eager to get played again in return for some clumsy flattery.
This is what Trump wants too, by the way. Which is why it’s strange you’re not eager to vote for Kamala who is likely to be more hawkish on Ukraine than Biden.

Yes, how is this different from Trump saying at the debate that he wants the war to end, not Ukraine to win?

Why would Kamala be less and not more Russia-appeasing than Biden? I ask completely seriously. I’m very eager to see some proof.

I’ve read she’s younger and less afraid and cautious than Biden, so maybe she would stand up to Putin more forcefully.
But honestly who knows. Hopefully we get another debate with more foreign policy questions.

She cannot stand up to a fawning CNN interviewer without having her VP candidate by her side to hold her hand. Anyone who thinks this floozy has the gravitas to have impactful conversations with other world leaders is legit insane.

No, you don’t say. They’ll be willing to give her anything to avoid having to hear her whiny voice any longer.
God, what a voice. Especially when she does the fake black accent.

Obama’s foreign policy of appeasement is going to be remember the same way as Merkel’s an absolute failure.
The USA would have lost the cold war with these type of weakling leaders.

Vance says Trump’s plan to end war in Ukraine could include creating demilitarized zone. The approach would mark a dramatic change from the Biden administration’s policy — which is focused on providing military and other assistance, along with Europe and other allies — to help Ukraine repel and reverse Russian aggression.
However, this suggestion does not jive with Trump’s declaration that he will end the war immediately. Foreign policy stands upon the first rule of deception deception deception deception deception etc etc etc.

This “ending the war immediately” is empty blabber that I find annoying. He had 4 years to end it, immediately or not, and he didn’t do it.
It’s the lack of seriousness and childishness that bother me.

Clarissa, the Russian Ukraine war started under Biden not Trump. It’s the lack of seriousness and childishness that bothers me … meaning “Simply not my responsibility to hold your dick while you learn to pee in the toilet.”

No, it started under Obama and continued unabated under Trump.

Your referring to the Russian seizing Crimea. Correct this occurred under Obozo the clown’s watch.

The Crimea, Donetsk, Lugansk, etc. The first attempt to capture Kharkiv, the massacre of Ilovaisk, the tragedy of Odessa. The war started in 2014 and has been going on for over a decade now.

So which candidate do you think is going to be easier to push in the direction you want for their Ukraine policy? That’s key.
Obama was a disaster.
JD doesn’t have a policy, he’s the #2. He’s not doing shinola to move Trump unless it’s via Peter Thiel money. Pence forgot his place, and he paid for it. And JD is more of a political lightweight than Pence was.
OTOH, I doubt you’d have some Miles Taylor clones or “steady state” people in a future Trump administration.

None. Not a one. We have been vacillating ad to whether we go full-on neoliberal or or slow down a bit. I see evidence that the decision has finally been made. It is to go full on.
The US has decided to go full speed ahead in the post-national, neoliberal direction. I’m not even saying, “I hope I’m wrong.” Because I’m very certain I’m right.
I don’t want to be negative, so I won’t continue this line of discussion.

I expect someday our descendants will look back on the era just ahead of us, the way we look at, say, the bolshevik revolution or the Turkish Yoke. We’ll finally have the Big Book of American Saints. It’ll be terrible. And someday, it’ll be glorious.
