Right? It’s like her account was hacked by some other Kamala who isn’t in the WH right now and hasn’t been the vice-president for years.

That there are still people who want to vote for this will never be not funny.

Also:


As Vice President, there wasn’t a single thing that I did that she couldn’t do and so I was able to delegate her responsibility on everything from foreign policy to domestic policy.

Just in case people begin to argue that Biden didn’t let her do all this fantastic stuff.

    All of these candidates will blame other the two other branches of the government for their failure to keep their promises. In your ideal world, what’s the makeup of the Senate and House after this election? [The federal judicial branch is mostly baked in.]

    Or…what’s the platform of the people who hold the majority?

    OT: Anyone from the Gulf/Floribama/Georgia/TN here? Are you ok?

    We are fine. FL mostly dodged the bullet on this one. Most of our W.NC people have checked in and are also OK, but still waiting on one, assuming the lack of contact has to do with power, internet, roads, and cell service all being cut off in Asheville. Still… the wait is tense.

      Last NC peep finally got a message out this morning! So relieved! They are fine, house is fine, but all the bridges are washed out and they can’t get out of their neighborhood for now, so it’s just clean up and wait.

        This is a terrible tragedy. I can’t even imagine. And it’s really obnoxious that many people immediately started politicizing this natural disaster. It’s a shame. Not everything is political. People are suffering. Can we concentrate on that for 3 minutes before making it about whatever everybody’s favorite political cause is?

          IKR? Watching this one roll in, I was so proud of my state. We literally had convoys of ambulances rolling down I-10 ahead of the hurricane, to evacuate nursing homes, and acres of utility and supply trucks parked just outside the hazard zone, waiting to go in as soon as the storm moved out. Our organizing around this stuff has gotten way better since I was a kid. We were staging utility truck convoys as early as 1996, but stuff like the Cajun Navy and the amazing state-level logisitcs has happened since. It’s really unusual for it to take more than 24 hours to make contact with people after a hurricane, now.

          But NC doesn’t get a hurricane or three every year. They’ve got nothing in the disaster/planning logistics and organization for this. 17 inches of rain in 24 hours is a minor nuisance where I live– it just runs off into the Gulf. In the mountains it is terrifying. I don’t think people are getting the full scope of the thing from the news. There are so many little communities up there with just one road through town, and there are so many bridges and roads washed out… they have no idea yet how many people are totally cut off not just from power, internet, and cell coverage, but from supplies of food and clean water. It is nuts. I’ve been through the post-apocalypse in my town and I don’t wish it on anybody, but I’m really afraid it’s gonna be worse up there. Here at least, we had the major roads passable the first day. There’s only one navigable highway going in or out of Asheville right now, and that’s not a small town!
