Liveblogging the Veep Debate

20:14 Is my TV broken or is Walz not OK?

20:17 Two minutes in, and I’m perishing of boredom. What are they even on about?

20:18 Vance does look and move weirdly. He should talk openly about diabetes to explain some of it.

20:20 Did they do the ties in their party colors on purpose?

20:22 I despise, absolutely despise Walz’s politics but he’s winning this thing. Vance has failed to respond about the Dem border bill. He failed to respond on Trump’s first-term inaction on immigration.

20:26 Vance’s plan on immigration is repeating the word “empowering” a lot.

20:28 Walz quoted the Bible. That’s it, we are done. Walz won.

20:29 People get pissy when I use the expression “dumb bints” but, in the name of exceptionally dumb bints, who are these moderators and why are they off their meds?

20:35 Finally, Vance came in with a good prepared line on the stupidity of experts. And a great prepared line on his kids.

20:37 Walz is slaughtering. “I agree with what he said but it’s all talk, no action.” That’s my number 1 objection to Trump, too. This resonates.

20:39 God, I detest it when people answer a direct question with a recitation of their entire boring biography. Walz just lost me again.

  1. Vance looks so much better than Walz and based on that alone he has a leg up. I’m trying to stick this debate out but yawwwnnn

    1. I’m not seeing much intellect on display with Vance. He failed to answer on immigration beyond “we need to empower border guards. Empower, we need to empower.” What does that mean and why the lib vocabulary?

      1. Had to laugh at your dumb bints terminology and again at MSNBC anchorshosts Nicolle Wallace and Rachel Maddow being outraged at Vance having the nerve to mansplain to an AUTHORITY as he tried to explain that the Haitians in Springfield were not actually legal immigrants but had only legal status, temporary protected status. His mike was of course cut with AUTHORITY ;-D

        1. If they have a legal status, then they are legal. I actually would love to hear what procedure Trump is planning to use to deport them but, as always, there was none.

          1. A lot of what Trump says is just to bug the Left. Like back in 2016 when he was saying they’re going to round up all the illegals and deport them, build a giant wall, Mexico will pay for it, etc…you might have heard the phrase that Trump’s base took him seriously, but not literally.

            1. So no deportations? Then why vote for him? This promise is the only reason I see to vote for him. What are people voting for if no wall and no deportations are forthcoming?

  2. Trump/Vance economic plan is garbage, that’s if you can call this a plan at all. More spending on entitlements, tax cuts for the richest, and no way to pay for any of it.

    1. Walz was doing fantastic and then he spoiled everything by responding with a recitation of his biography in response to a question about his fabrication about a visit to China.

    1. Walz is phenomenal. This is the first time I heard him speak for longer than 30 seconds and he’s very impressive.

Congratulations. You guys won the election.

      1. First time hearing him speak. He is very well spoken, far better than Kamala. Wish we could swap presidential with vice presidential candidates.

          1. What is impressive about him? He looked very nervous and constantly made bad faces, and is a compulsive liar, claiming he was at the Tiananmen Square massacre when he wasn’t, claiming he was in combat when he wasn’t, claiming he was a Command Sergeant Major when he wasn’t, etc…

            1. He has charisma. That American Dad thing that I really didn’t understand at first? I really get it now.

The only opinion that counts is non-partisan because people who have a horse in the race always think their candidate won. From the place of objective non-partisanship, I’m saying that Vance looked wooden and robotic while Waltz look human and relatable.

The only time Vance came alive was when he talked about how successful his left-wing corporate lawyer wife is. Maybe the wife should run instead because he’s clearly nothing without her.

              1. His wife is left-wing? That is something I will have to read up on. Most everyone else seems to think Vance came across as likable and relatable. He seemed calm and in control. But also, he serves as a counterweight to the very charismatic, but not very substantive, Trump. Also people don’t always think their candidate won. Democrats all knew Joe Biden lost that debate with Trump and Republicans all knew Trump pretty much lost that debate with Kampala Harrism

If there are Republicans who recognize that Harris won the debate against Trump, I’m yet to meet them. The level of delusional thinking is off the charts.

  3. Everyone, including Democrats, are saying Walz clearly lost and Vance clearly won. They say Walz was nervous and terrible, while Vance was poised and polished.

    1. “women and gay men online who are horny for JD Vance … just found it funny”

The funniest was a group of ‘feminists’ who were dissing Vance… by imagining being married to him…

Self-awareness is a very rare thing.
