Trump vs Vance

Vance, with his wooden delivery, a chronic incapacity to deliver a zinger, flat affect and zero charisma is the polar opposite of Trump who is charismatic, expressive, authentic, and churns out killer zingers one after another.

Yes, everybody will hate me at the end of the preceding sentence but I have to call it as I see it.

I understand the logic behind choosing a boring dude to offset Trump’s boisterousness. But this puts us in a bad position for the future. Who’ll be the candidate after Trump? Vance couldn’t sell cold water in a desert.

  1. Vance is the best person to lead the party after Trump. I wish there were someone else but this is the reality. The chamber of commerce/neocon republican establishment which supports endless immigration and can’t wait to send americans to die in foreign wars can fuck right off.

Who else can follow trump? Nikki fucking Haley??

It’s going to be fine no matter what. If Trump wins, good. If he loses, the GOP will be destroyed because the base can no longer be contained by the likes of Lindsey Graham (who at present is conditioning the hurricane Helene aid package on support for Israel). And that’ll be a good thing too.

  2. The funny thing is that for an Ohio politician, Vance is quite charismatic. This is a bit like being the tallest dwarf though.

  3. C’mon Clarissa, you know you can’t assume Vance will be the leader of the GOP after Trump. Another four years is eons in politics today. Wholly new candidates will come to the fore.

    1. I agree completely. Especially since Republicans lost the election already.

Of course, the blame will be laid at the feet of Venezuelan voting machines, as always. God forbid, anybody take any responsibility for anything.

I hate it that they keep winning but it’s totally deserved.

  4. Heh. Vance/DeSantis 2028…

It is a shame that a president has to be all those things. DeSantis has the charisma of cold oatmeal, but very popular here in FL because he’s been a fantastic administrator. People really are capable of understanding that your leader being able to tell a good joke off the cuff pales in comparison to getting your town’s roads clear and electrical grid up and running as quickly as humanly possible after you get clobbered by a hurricane. A shame it doesn’t scale: hurricanes are almost unique among natural disasters in that they have several days of lead/planning/staging time.
