The new Mexican president is just as bad as the previous one. This is not surprising because she’s his puppet. Two days into her presidency, she restarted the previous president’s demands that the King of Spain apologize for Hernán Cortés.
The King of Spain belongs to the dynasty that came after the dynasty that sent Cortés yo Cuba and prohibited him from conquering Mexico. The Mexican Creole* elites that rob Mexicans blind and that produce these presidents, however, definitely are Cortés’s fault.
At least, AMLO was his own man. This Sheinbaum person, on the other hand, is a subservient, useless, Putin-worshipping, race-mongering lefty.
*Creole means white in Latin America.

I’m not surprised, as I myself come from Creole Cuban stock. These folks are some of the most racist, self-loathing humans on the planet, they hate anyone darker-skinned yet trumpet that they’re “non-white” when they’d be seen as white people if they didn’t have a Spanish name. My family in Miami are the same Creole Cuban stock as myself, they’re prejudiced against dark-skinned people and both loath and admire white people and think having light skin is superior. It sounds crazy to non-Hispanics, I’m glad my parents moved to New Jersey and I wasn’t raised with that mindset

In Asia, I often had other girls sidle up to me, hold out an arm next to mine, and then ooh over how “trang” and “dep” my skin is. Sigh. I did try to explain about how in the US, having a tan is a sign of wealth, because it means you have the leisure to hang out at the beach, and that my sort of freckling is not considered attractive. They were aghast. They all engage in burka-level coverings when they are forced out into the midday sun (insert “mad dogs and englishmen” quote here): face-masks that also covered the neck, brimmed hats, opera-length gloves, the works. Even when it was 100 degrees out! Nothing could be worse than getting a tan. “You’ll turn black and never find a husband” they warned me.
