Uncomfortable Hands

Everybody is mocking this pro-Kamala ad but what I don’t understand…

… is why almost all men in it hold their hands in such a weird way. These are professional actors who should know how to not come off as weird in a short video. But the hands look very uncomfortable.

And eerily similar to that photo of uncomfortable Kamala I recently posted.

Is it a new secret handshake or something?

Do we know if this is a real ad? At the end it says it’s not approved by any candidate or committee…

Is it by rogue Harris supporters (who are also retards?) or maybe it’s a clever parody of what Harris detractors think she would come up with?

    I agree that if it’s serious then it’s a cringe-quake 8.9 on the rictus scale… if it’s parody then… I’m not sure what to think about it….

    1. People have investigated, and this seems to be real. The bios of the actors were posted, and they are all ultra-liberal in RL. Which still doesn’t explain the hands. It’s like they were all raised in pods on another planet. And never met any actual men.

      1. Have never used hands for anything but operating a smartphone?

Watched several times with no sound.

Orange shirt guy just seems to be– there’s a lot of tension there. Not just hands, he’s got his legs to his body at a weird angle. Posture very rigid.

Best guess: all of these fellows were given a pep-talk beforehand: you’re portraying normal working-class average Joes. But none of them have any experience at that, only some weird negative stereotypes, and now they’re uncomfortable, they’re dressed weird, some have been given props with which they have no experience (motorbike, shiny shiny bucket), and they’re gonna fake it and hope the next job pays better. Because they’d all be much more comfortable in a chorus line.

Just did once…. no more… oh god, no more. They all seem very uncomfortable and orange shirt guy is weirdly aggressive despite/because of almost certainly meant to be read as gay. Black guy is not taking any of this seriously and open shirt horse guy is the closest to relatively normal human body language… not super close, it’s a very slow horse race.

        2. It’s kind of really funny that professional actors were asked to play a relatable regular guy and they failed so badly.

They all look and act in a way that would have me crossing the road to avoid them.

Well I watched it again…. and after recovering from almost dying of vicarious shame….. it’s obviously not targeted at men at all. It’s targeted to women who fantasize about men telling them how great they are (which is… a lot).

As for the hands… everybody knows that one of the hardest things about staging plays or film is figuring out what to do with the actors’ hands since normal human hand behavior is not very cinematic or interesting. That’s one reason there used to be so much smoking in movies. It’s way cellphone use so quickly integrated itself into films.

One explanation is that the thing was done on the fly on the cheap because the target audience wouldn’t be paying attention to the hands but would be lapping up male expressions of respect for them.

    1. Actually, the Democrats have realized that they have created a “men” problem, Walz is supposed to go pheasant hunting with a couple of tougher type bros this weekend, hoping to correct his original pathetic hunting and mechanic ads. I doubt the current ad is not aimed at women, but rathert the ad was written by a woman or more likely women, remember that ridiculous Gillette ad. It lost Procter and Gamble tens of millions in losses, let’s hope the Democrats also get exactly what they deserve ;-D

      1. I heard Obama is making the rounds, scolding black men for not wanting to vote for Kamala because she’s a woman. I won’t mock because he looks terrible. Aged and not in a good way.

That’s very obvious…. how many years since cars used carberators? And in general the script reads more like a bunch of ‘girl bosses’ than anything men would be likely to say.

The prairie homestead wives around here made it out of large clay crocks, layering sauerkraut with whole cabbages, with the latter used to make cabbage rolls throughout the winter. Those women and most of the homesteads are long gone, but the crocks are now worth a small fortune. I used two widemouth quart jars to try out the process.

My Bavarian neighbour told me about using a krauthammer to smash the sliced cabbages to yield sufficient liquid to cover the fermenting cabbage and salt. So I tried a “scothammer” using an empty whisky bottle…hey, it worked ;-D
