In Agreement with Julie Bindel

Bindel is absolutely right. These men are horrible people engaged in a deeply immoral activity.

It’s utterly irrelevant that both Phillips and these men freely chose to engage in this nastiness. Making a deity out of “choice” is daft. People freely choose to do all sorts of atrocious things, and that “free choosiness” in no way makes what they do moral or good.

    1. These men are using a human being, a person as a toilet. There’s something deeply wrong in their heads.

And the woman has turned herself into a human toilet. She’s very messed up, too.

If I see a passed out addict lying on the ground, I don’t kick him or spit on him. Yes, he’s wrong that he turned himself into this. But that doesn’t excuse anybody who degrades and hurts him while he’s in that state.

      1. “a passed out addict lying on the ground”

My better (and much more disturbing) analogy…. someone sees an od’ing addict lying on the ground and starts collecting and ingesting their bodily fluids hoping for a second hand high….

I haven’t read the entire piece by Bindel (who I generally really like) but some headline abbreviations made it sound like the woman in question had been victimized by the men (as if she had been okay before the experience). Headlines are not written by authors usually so it’s good to know she realizes how all involved degraded themselves.

  1. I’ve been reading Julie Bindel on Substack and I agree with her, this is a messed up situation and Lily Phillips is an extremely messed up woman. I can’t comprehend why any sane woman would engage in that, the health issues would be off the charts. Allegedly the cameraman retched at the smell in the room, I don’t want to think about how this looks or smells.

According to sources, her family is actually supportive and she comes from an upper middle class background. I’m guessing her father is a simp who’s dominated by his wife and the mother seems like the sort of “bohemian” type who wants to smash the patriarchy, she might love that her attractive daughter is the complete opposite of a respectable woman. Or worse, she’s a Kris Jenner type who is pimping out her daughter for fame, Kris Jenner is the Kardashian sisters’ mother

      1. I agree, I can’t understand why any guy would want to have sex with a woman in that condition and be on camera too. They’re taking advantage of a mentally ill woman who is in terrible shape, I guess they thought it was a way to get free sex from a quasi-celebrity that they could never attract under normal circumstances. And all the men who participated in this travesty are scumbags, in a normal society everyone involved would be in jail

        1. Exactly. I have no idea why we decided as a society to normalize it and even defend it under the banner of “freedom” and “choice”. And why the word “immoral” has become so weird and outdated.

          1. That’s an interesting point, people no longer think such gross public debauchery is a bad thing which should be immoral. In fact, criticizing such behavior is the bad thing because it “infringes” on people’s rights to do what they want. We are in Bizarro World where being a public sperm receptacle is okay but being is not, that if one is not having sex, you’re the one who’s crazy.

  2. It never occurs to the Ms Bindels (or perhaps the Ms Headline Writers) of the world to write:

“Shame on Lily and the Foul Men Making Use of these Slatterns”

False, ugly, and wicked: all three.

    1. “Shame on Lilly” is to obvious to need to be repeated. The whole point is that, while everybody understands that she’s trash, the men participating slide by without anybody pointing out that they are just as much trash.

      1. yeah. Implicit assumption there, that if you offer it, men will line up for it, and there’s surprisingly little judgement in it. Like “but of course if you are giving away free lollipops, kids will queue up for them until they are all gone.”

Except it’s more like somebody giving out free sh*t popsicles. I mean, who wouldn’t want one, right?

        1. That’s a good point, it’s the idea that men cannot control themselves and will jump at the opportunity to have sex with a quasi-famous Onlyfans model for free. Most normal men would be grossed out by the idea of being one in a long line of men using a woman as a sperm receptacle, but I guess these were the sort that have trouble attracting normal women and the idea of being able to screw an Onlyfans model was too enticing to pass up.

      2. A cynical mind would imagine that slide-by was the point of normalizing female prostitution. Now that’s taken care of, we can skip the prohibition on slut-shaming.

Also missing the normalization of kink. Men get stuck, sexually, in wierd ways.

What the Lily woman did has been going on with male prostitutes for decades: no one bats an eye. And the young men are as Milo pointed out, “quite young, indeed.”

  3. It’s great to read these comments.

It is tragic that the very word, let alone the concept of morality, should have disappeared from public discourse. Whenever I use the word or try to bring the concept into class discussions, my Gen-Z students look uncomprehending and cannot really fathom what I am going on about.

Reading most, if not all, literature becomes almost impossible or useless if you do not understand morality. And no, I am not referring to bigotry.
