Everything went wrong with yesterday’s taping. I couldn’t use the prefab backdrop, I had to sit very uncomfortably with the mic constantly slipping away. The lighting was the absolute worst. On the positive side, I now know how I’ll look at the age of 70. On the negative side, I now know I’ll look hideous. Usually, when I’m recording I get distracted by how phenomenal I look but this time I was distracted by the exact opposite.

I’m supposed to have another taping tomorrow, so let’s hope that one will be more normal.

    What was the position of the camera relative to your face? It seems to me it was below your eyes, which is typically not flattering to anyone’s face. My suggestion is to check the camera height and make sure that it is at your eye level or slightly higher. You can put some books (I’m sure you can easily find some) below your computer screen or a laptop to adjust the height as necessary.

      I know, it was such an uncomfortable position, and I did put a large box under the computer but it was still not high enough. I’ll take it all into account for my taping tomorrow.

    You could tweak this a bit and create a comic character, a daft pro-russian lady (who undermines her own arguments) named Москала Уродливобрюкова… a more befuddled, less evil version of Simonyan/Skabeeva….

    Give it some thought…. and realize I fully expect royalties if this becomes a thing.
