R.I.P. Alex the Physicist

A long-time commenter on this blog, Alex the Physicist, died of an aggressive brain cancer. He was only 47 years old.

Alex was so funny, sweet, and brilliant. He despised wokeness and often commented as “Anonymous for This One” when fearing detection by his left-wing colleagues.

I hate cancer. And I also hate having a little cemetery of people I cared about who died.

  1. I’m sorry.

Cancer does indeed suck, and having a little cemetery of people you cared about seems to be part of aging. Even when you’re just middle aged.

Were you sending/able to send some more personal remarks to his memorial?

  2. Used to follow his blog Physicist at Large. Always thoughtful and polite. 😦

There is no info there, so his readers may not know what happened.

    1. Until the last moments when he barely could type anymore, he’d make jokes and try to lighten everybody’s mood. This was all on FB. Alex didn’t have much strength for blogging, although he did make an occasional comment here. I’d know it was him because he started making a lot of typos after all the surgeries and procedures.
