All of us also deserve a lifelong supply of free ice-cream, excellent weather always, and to live forever. And world peace!

This is not a defense of Musk. This is a defense of adults not talking like 6-year-olds.

It must be a defense of another soul-less monster.

If you mean Vivek, this is completely off base. I despise that bastard.

I hate that piece of shit. For someone born in america, it’s breathtaking how ignorant he is of his country’s culture. “American kids are too busy having fun,” he says as if it’s a bad thing. This is a great thing you fucking dork! It’s called having a childhood. I’m sorry american kids aren’t studying 18 hours a day like Korean kids and contemplating suicide. These people are insane, they really think the purpose of human beings is to get integrated into the productive economy as soon as humanly possible.

What exactly does he bring to the table besides his need for attention and a high verbal IQ? His sole achievement is making hundreds of millions from scamming investors off a fake Alzheimer’s drug. I’m so glad he went mask off so early, even before Trump took office. He’s definitely nuked his future political career and I for one am so glad.

He and Musk are very dangerous for immigration.

Exactly. What Vivek doesn’t understand is that America has long advanced to the stage where there is no demand for crowds of obedient, patient drones. What is in demand is creative talent, individuality, innovation, big thinking. The way you raise such children is through privileging play, free time, free exploration, protecting their individuality. It’s the great American know-how and rubbishing it comes from a complete misreading of what tomorrow’s economy will need. A regular American family knows it instinctively but Vivek is clueless.

So yes, totally, he’s completely confused. Or actively malicious.

At its height, Western countries always had leaders with BOTH the qualities of the sportsman and the nerd. The warrior scholar was always the Faustian ideal. America had only recently become comfortable with the idea of pure technocratic rulers and the supremacy of the nerd, and this over-specialization directly corresponded with society’ss decline. The idea that the key to success in the 21st century was just grinding tech knowledge harder and going full “tiger mother” on American kids was ridiculous.

After all, that’s what South Korea did. And how did it work out for them?

It never seems to occur to people that there’s a reason everybody wants to flock to America. That maybe Americans figured something out that makes it attractive. But it’s the magic dirt mentality. They think America is wonderful but Americans and American culture suck. This mentality is the most illogical possible but these people consider themselves to be mega smart.

Couldn’t agree more. I’m very glad Elon and Vivek are showing their true colors and their disdain for American people and culture early on. I hate using terms like RINOs, but these two exemplify this very clearly.

The sooner these clowns get extirpated from our political discourse, the better.

The aim of neoliberalism is to commodify and monetize everything. Instead of kids going to public shool and goofing around and playing for “free”…. it devises a lot of financially onerous ‘activities’ for children so that children become an economic drag on the family.

That’s my point exactly. This is like “rights”, a vague, self-righteous incantation directed into the ether.
