Right-wing Letdown

The past several days have been a big letdown for us, right-wingers. I’m not into partisanship or personality cults, and everybody who is interested in that are asked kindly to proceed to the left where crawling on one’s knees for some dude or another is normal.

It’s concerning that billions in funding, free speech limitations, and UN voting are being decided on the basis of subservience to Israel. I support Israel but I want to live in a nation-state, not a branch office of Israel.

The efforts to portray us like the pro-pedophilia party proceed unopposed and include not only the mysterious disappearance of the Epstein files but the goofy posing of right-wing influencers with fake files and moronic jokes of the House GOP Judiciary Committee. These are self-inflicted wounds that are a result of sloppiness.

The situation with Ukraine is completely mishandled. JD Vance is making bizarre statements, calling Britain and France “random countries”, then saying it’s not what he meant. The whole thing reeks of playground cattiness and a lack of seriousness. The plan to make the European war the responsibility of Europe was proceeding apace, and now this absolute goof is meddling and opposing an excellent plan in which the EU was taking responsibility on its own shoulders. You want America First? Excellent. Go do that. Speaking of which:

Lutnick went on record with a statement worthy of the losers who praised Bidenomics, saying, “there may well be short-term price movements.” What is this, bloody USSR? We now have our own novoyaz to avoid saying that prices will go up? We need to hear what is happening to the economy and why.

None of this is OK, and we shouldn’t be cowering in fear, like a bunch of lefties, and failing to point this out. That the President himself is going to mete punishments to idjit students who think wrong thoughts, I’m sorry but this is Obama-style crap. Everything I listed above reeks of Obama. Not in the conspiracy sense that he’s pulling the strings but in the sense that sloppy unseriousness has infected both parties to a degree that currently looks irreparable.

      1. It will be my pleasure! I will teach a Spanish Cultural Studies course remotely then, so I will be in the city of our youth. My first course taught in English. Perhaps I should invite you as a speaker. Or we can simply hang out and see the crumbles left at the SP bookstore.

        Ol.

  1. “the pro-pedophilia party”

By now, it’s a bi-partisan effort. Both parties are committed to promoting pedophilia and prostitution. They just take slightly different paths to get there.

  2. I guess I’m not watching enough news/Twitter to know what’s going on. I did watch all 50 min of the Oval Office meeting. I’m disappointed in recent turns of events, other than the small numbers of border encounters. That is a good thing! I’m going to give up chocolate and twitter/X for Lent. I need a reset. –

    1. I remain convinced that the Oval Office stunt (which I didn’t watch because I prefer my theater to be less comedic) was a show. And the minerals deal will be signed in the nearest future. It’s worth nothing but OK, whatever.

        1. Called it.

Thank you for the kind words, and I promise I’ll be the absolute last person on the planet to use AI to wrote posts or to compromise my sincerity for clicks or popularity. I don’t get anything from clicks anyway.

          1. Can someone please give me more details about these “minerals”? Do they even exist? So funny how they magically appeared in the discourse last month. Minerals is such a vague term too lol. It’s like you’re playing a board game and you land on a square called MINERALS!

            1. No, they don’t exist. I mean, there might be something, but it’s like in Afghanistan. The cost of extracting them would make them not worth extracting. Plus, they are in the occupied territories.

These minerals are a way of speaking, more than anything else.

      1. I also refuse to watch or read anything to do with the Oval Office showdown: I was caught unawares on YouTube but the little I saw left me with a bitter unpleasantness: I could no longer distinguish between who was acting, who was acting up and who was genuinely perplexed at what was going on.

        1. These meetings are not when and how serious things are decided. Normies don’t understand it. They need a simple picture where they can project themselves onto the politicians who please them and then emote avidly. That’s all they really want, to feel.

Dishonest pundits exploit this normie need for engagement and attention. It’s a low thing to do but if people keep eating it up, it’s not going to end.

  3. RFK Jr was appointed to remove seed oils from our food supply. Instead, he’s busy creating new institutions to combat anti-semitism. Just do your fucking job, man.

We used to laugh at libs saying “racism is the real pandemic.” Well now we have our own right-wing version of it.

  4. I cannot help but notice how your disappointment with the current admimistration has been “growing” and become more evident since the Oval Office debacle with Zelensky (who clearly came across as belligerent and pigheaded, even if intentionally by your line of logic). While you deemed this meeting as a staged showdown, it has not prevented you from focusing obsessively on nobodys like Tates since then. The very intentional denial and ignorance of something to this degree while focusing of minutiae of issues that by any measure is even less relevant (like Trump not commenting on Tates… he really has better things to do and a huge mess to clean up!), is itself suspicious especially when viewed against the perceptible shift in the mood/vibe of your blogposts since then.

    1. I have no idea what this rambling flow of consciousness is supposed to mean but I’ve been blogging for 15 years, and there regularly appear people who try to tell me what I’m supposed to care about. It’s weird behavior and utterly useless. I’ll write about whatever I wish but good news! You can go away and not read what I write.

I don’t get these people. The online space is vast. Yet they attach to a person they think is getting everything wrong and hang on for dear life.
