The Actual Deportations

Against the background of no deportations for the millions that Biden brought in, this looks particularly charming.

Once again I ask, are we a country or a branch office of Israel? Why are we making a sacred cow out of Israel? This is happening just as we are doing everything on our power to install another Liberal government in Canada. Canada is closer culturally and geographically. Shouldn’t we care about it more?

I was wondering about that…. why doesn’t Trump want the Great Right Hope Polievre? He’s all but endorsing anyone but him…

Musk and Rubio have also managed to alienate Poland by attacking the Minister of Foreign Affiars (a more pro-American country is hard to imagine and the amount US stock has fallen here in the last couple of weeks is pretty dramatic).

I’m still waiting for Trump to use rhetoric that’s 1/10 as harsh about russia or china as he does about the US’s closest allies.

I’m getting closer to believing the Krasnov story…

    1. I think Trump sincerely doesn’t know about the political landscape of Canada. He’s being had in every way and every orifice by somebody as weak and pathetic as Justin Trudeau. It’s humiliating.

The Polish situation is another example of undisciplined, emotive, gushy behavior. Adult men pulsating with uncontrolled emotion are embarrassing to observe.

      1. …oh, and it’s already Christians. But NPR isn’t gonna tell you that:

        https://greekcitytimes.com/2025/03/08/syria-turkey-backed-jihadists/

“The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) said on Friday that more than 225 people have been killed since Thursday. However, this is believed to be a gross underreporting, with activists on the ground, such as Coast Youth Forum, believing the death toll could be as high as 1,800, mostly Alawites, but also Christians.”

“The latest massacres mark a sharp escalation though, with disturbing videos seen by Greek City Times showing the execution of civilians, women, children and the elderly.”

And it’s not like it’s just a case of conflicting reports, wartime chaos and whatnot, they’re proudly posting video of themselves doing it.

        1. Sorry to clutter your feed. I don’t have anybody else to pester about it who’d remotely understand.

This one has pictures from Sunday of Orthodoxy (yesterday), and a Greek MEP who just got back from talking to our patriarch in Damascus, who is saying that number is 7000 killed, both Alawites and Christians.

        1. Like the ethnic cleansing of Nagorno-Karabakh less than five months ago: the Christian Armenian population driven out by Azerbaijan’s military forces after two millennia of living in the area and hardly a peep or a squeak from any mainstream media in the West. The pleadings of Armenia’s president to the EU and the US falling on deaf ears.

            1. “Christians are unfashionable”

What’s gone on in Azerbaijan and is ongoing in Syria is so terrible and the US did and is doing nothing. At least it’s making criticism of Israel illegal.

            2. That begs the question who determines what *is* fashionable.

There seem to be a lot of people ignoring fashion these days.

We keep rearranging our nave to make more room, and then a few months later, we’re back to overflowing into the narthex.

We seem to be the hot new thing. Maybe the current self-appointed ‘trendsetters’ are irrelevant.

              1. We have two new catechumen. Young, male, early to mid twenties. This is all while we don’t even have a priest. Yet new people still come! That’s very heartening.
