Why Aren’t They Curious?

I keep waiting and waiting for at least one of these people to ask:

How come we knew that Biden was senile, BLM was crap, lockdowns were a bad idea, and COVID vaccines didn’t prevent infection SO MUCH EARLIER than they did?

Why aren’t they wondering how come everything their news sources dismiss as a “far-right conspiracy theory” eventually turns out to be true?

Why aren’t they wondering how come we knew all this stuff months or even years before they did?

Why aren’t they even a little bit curious?

  1. “Why aren’t they curious…”

…followed by nearly anything, is a question I ask myself nearly every time I’m in contact with normal people. Are they naturally too dumb to look closely at anything? Was their natural curiosity amputated in school? Is it the electronics, enforcing a constant state of distraction?

I do not know. But it is a sad state of affairs.

  2. You’re just emoting on the internet about the emotional wing of the other party. You say that Biden is senile (I don’t deny the deterioration) while pretending that Trump doesn’t have a personality disorder that renders him incapable of considering any interests beyond his own.

    1. “You say that Biden is senile”

_Everyone_ who could see, hear and was intellectually honest knew that long before the ‘debate’ that made it undeniable. Yet anyone who brought it up was called terrible names and told they hate democracy or some damn thing or other….

“pretending that Trump doesn’t have a personality disorder”

Who’s pretending? It’s undeniable that he has serious personal flaws that make him kind of a disaster in some area of policy or other (still between him and Harris… he was the second worst choice in 2024).

      1. Everyone who thinks they can convince or manipulate him into doing the right thing is pretending. For example, every time any serious thinkers tell us we can persuade Trump to side with Ukraine they are deluding themselves.

        1. What does “side with Ukraine” mean? Let’s elevate the level of the discourse from kindergarten to at least second grade. Which specific actions would this “siding” entail?

          1. Siding with Ukraine would involve actual secondary sanctions on Russia instead of endless threats of them.

It would involve not pretending Russia wants peace and not believing them when they say they’re ready to negotiate. In every round of negotiations they effectively demand Ukrainian capitulation.

It would involve selling Ukraine Patriot systems it said it wanted to buy.

Siding with Ukraine would definitely not involve suspending aid and intelligence sharing like the Trump administration did after that meeting where they bullied Zelenskyy.

            1. Sanctions have had zero effect and will continue to have none, so this is a waste of time. What has had an effect is dropping the price of oil. That’s the only thing that has had an effect and a major one.

Selling Patriots to Ukraine has been against the policy of every US government since Ukraine came into existence. It will not be possible to reverse that policy until the US has full control over its critical manufacturing (e.g. pharmaceutical) on its own soil.

Pretending and believing are woo-woo fantasies that it makes no sense to discuss.

    2. It’s extraordinary how a person can read such a short post and not understand it at all.

The post is about the lies that the media tell. The media do not conceal Trump’s personality flaws. We are all very much aware of them. Is this clearer or still very confusing?

      1. Yes, the media, influencers, and regular people tell lies. Other people fall prey to that. You’re frustrated with that.

        1. The question is why people choose to fall prey again and again and again rather than simply reevaluate their news sources.

But I understand that this is too complex for you. Don’t strain yourself unnecessarily.
