Money for Newborns

This is actually a good idea:

Trump is setting up index fund accounts for newborns seeded with $1,000, where parents can then invest up to $5,000 a year, tax-deferred.

If parents max out the accounts, kids will have well over six figures for their education when they graduate.

It’s not a measure to stimulate the hyper-irresponsible to procreate. To the contrary, it helps people who will be responsible, intelligent parents capable of long-term thinking. The kind of people we want to have children.

Whoever came up with it is smart.
