Empty Beach

The beach is empty, which I most definitely don’t hate for myself. I am, of course, hopeful that tourists return soon to this wonderful area.

Not having to step over 5 rows of vacationers is not something I mind, as you can probably guess. Plus, I can listen to my book without headphones because there’s nobody here to be disturbed by the sound.

  1. I think tourism to the US is taking a huge hit with all the stories about how foreign tourists are being subjected to harsh treatment upon arrival. Also, Trump managed to really piss of Canadians, Europeans, and many others. It really baffles me how he seems to be out to hurt tourism to the US. He recently increased prices only for foreign tourists when visiting national parks. Baffling stuff.

    1. I do not believe this is a reflection of a general trend. I went to the beach with my family (different place in the US) and it was full. I only wish we had so much space on the beach!

  2. I don’t think July is prime time for Florida tourism. Usually winter is when people flock there. So hopefully it’s just quiet for that reason.

    1. I’ve been coming to this exact spot for 15 years, and it was always full to the brim in summers.

The hurricanes pretty much destroyed the whole strip 2 years ago, and it’s still rebuilding.
