Unpatriotic Revisionism

JD Vance is now informing us that WW2 ended in a negotiated settlement.

No, you incredible pussy. It ended because we killed those bastards dead. That’s how it ended, you unpatriotic piece of utter ridiculousness.

Honestly, if in 2028 it comes to Newsom vs Vance, I’m kind of not that opposed to Newsom.

  1. The X post making this claim has been debunked. Vance’s remarks, made 6 months ago at the Munich security conference, never explicitly claimed WWII ended by negotiation. Ask Grok.

    Please examine the consequences, confirmed repeatedly by statistics, of Newsom’s misrule of California. Take your most beloved college administrator, multiply by 4, add insufferable smugness, profoud ignorance of basic economics and the law of cause and effect, and you’ve got your boy.

  2. I have a special hatred for Newsom even moreso than other Democrats, so I can’t say I feel the same. But I get it, the unpatriotic turn parts of the “right” are taking is depressing to watch.

  3. Vance knows perfectly well how WW2 ended. He’s saying this to justify forcing Ukraine to give Russia what Russia wants.

    1. You are being too nice to him. The reality is worse. Vance interiorized the liberal mentality that America is not good. I’ve been saying it for as long as he’s been on the political scene. He can’t recognize American achievement even in such a clear-cut case as WW2. That is scary to me. A fake conservative is more dangerous than an open liberal.

      1. He’s a Yalie. Worse, *because* he came from the working class and assimilated into Yalie culture, he’s going to be a lot more rigid about upholding the values of his adopted culture, because he’ll never be secure in his membership. He wasn’t born to it, he doesn’t get any advantage from his family connections, the borough he grew up in, private high school buddies. No buffer, no social insurance, no affluent uncles to intervene for him: if he puts one foot wrong, he gets booted out of the club, and he knows it.

        1. Plus, his wife worked for Munger, Tolles, & Olson LLP which, before its website was scrubbed, called itself “radically progressive.”

          Among their pro bono cases were the following:

          For over a decade, MTO partnered with Human Rights First to represent LGBTQIA+ immigrants seeking asylum. Notably, they helped a Honduran transgender woman and a Russian genderqueer individual obtain relief in immigration court.

          MTO attorneys have taken pro bono efforts all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court, including:

          Challenging the “independent state legislature” theory impacting election administration;

          Securing an injunction abolishing cash bail for many low-level offenses in Los Angeles County;

          Defending race-neutral admissions policies promoting diversity in schools;

          Enforcing Public Records Act compliance in policing;

          Ending the use of private contractors in immigration arrests in California.

          Following the murder of George Floyd in 2020, Munger, Tolles & Olson assembled a “Combatting Systemic Racism” (CSR) Task Force. The task force led to several actions, including:
          Police reform pro bono work: The firm partnered with the ACLU and its California branches to seek and litigate for the release of police misconduct records from hundreds of law enforcement agencies.
          Systemic change: The broader goal of this initiative is to create more transparency and accountability in law enforcement.
          Recognition: This work was featured in a 2024 video from the Pro Bono Institute, where the firm received the Pickering Award.

          There’s a lot more.

          1. I can’t get over the dumb conservative toadies who refer to Usha as “a conservative Hindu woman” when she’s clearly and openly left-wing. Vance despises his own family and worships hers. These are very leftist people. That this would somehow not rub off on him is a fantasy.

            1. This is the most famous case Usha worked on:

              Justine Tanjaya v. Regents of the University of California (9th Cir., Nov 30, 2020)

              Nature of the Case
              Dr. Justine Tanjaya, a dentist (DDS), filed suit under Title IX, alleging sex discrimination, hostile educational environment, and retaliation by the University of California after she reported sexual harassment. Her claims implicated both the handling of the Title IX investigation and potential retaliatory actions by the institution.

              Court’s Decision
              The Ninth Circuit affirmed the district court’s dismissal of her claims. The appellate panel found:

              The complaint failed to allege that the University’s response was “deliberately indifferent” to harassment that effectively denied educational access—one of the standards under Davis v. Monroe County Board of Education.

              In short, a fake #MeToo claim.

              1. We keep saying that liberals don’t have a workable theory of the mind. OK. But what is ours? That Vance willingly surrounded himself with “radically progressive” people and their beliefs didn’t rub off on him? He’s in bed with Peter Thiel, a radical transhumanist. Is transhumanism conservative?

                What is the theory of the mind that explains how Vance can be surrounded by these mega liberal people whom he chose to populate his life and avoid being touched by their beliefs?

      2. How is this worse? You’re describing him being misguided, whereas knowingly lying about WW2 to force Ukraine to capitulate is straight up evil.

  4. All good points. JD Vance is an despicable person.

    His “have you even said thank you” will also haunt him for his political career. It shows a complete disregard for a leader who has been through hell for his country. He doesn’t know what that means.

    1. And he looked so stupid. A soft, pussy-whipped guy with a high-pitched voice playing the role of a spinster aunt. “Have you said the magic word?” Embarrassing.

      Forget Newsom. Even AOC looks manlier in comparison.

          1. Fair enough, there were good reasons why I moved to Maths and Sciences away back in the 60’s ;-D

            But there are several bloggers here with some considerable knowledge pf history here, many of them could correct your ideas regarding negotiations. It is not always the case, but in many instances the terms of surrender are negotiated, most often for political reasons. For example, Grant’s terms to Lee provided very generous terms yielding a rapid end to the war through the honourable surrender of individual armies rather than than those of the Confederate states as a whole. There were no prison camps, the soldiers went home. Only today do the shit for brains brigade stir up trouble by destroying statues and the like.

            There were also clearly negotiations ending both WW1 and WW2, many believe that the harsh terms of the former led in large part to the latter.
