Strangely, it never occurs to anybody to argue that half of the Aztec or Inca emperors or African chieftains and kings were white. The only culture that has to be insistently and counterfactually presented as being the today’s embodiment of diverse is the European culture.

Ramaswamy’s point is correct and timely. An essential part of the greatness of Rome was that they integrated people from all over the world into their empire. The key point is that people were actually integrated and not just brought in. This worked because Rome had a powerful and thriving state, and citizens worked hard to improve this state and not just to extract personal benefits from it.
During its better days the United States also functioned thus (although of course not to the same extent), and absorbed all kinds of immigrants fully enough that their dominant identity became American. Even as late as the 1950s the character Ricky Ricardo in I Love Lucy is more American than Cuban-American.
In the decades since we have lost our ability to assimilate people. They come and do not integrate, and this is both a cause and symptom of our deep problems.

You forget that the US’s immigration system until it was hijacked by leftists and globalists focused almost entirely upon pre-selected immigrants.
You had to be white, specifically from England, Ireland, Scotland, or the nearby countries.
You had to be not only a Christian, but one of good upstanding character and morals.
You had to either have money, or already have a job available upon arrival.
Our entire immigration system was designed to make sure the make up of the American people stayed the same or as close to the same as possible.
The immigrants were easily integrated because they came from very similar civilizations. Oh the vernacular was different, and occasionally the language (French, German, etc.) but their religion was the same, their understanding of civilization was roughly the same, their ideas of how the world worked was roughly the same. Oh and they weren’t coming in as a net drain on the country. Parasites were not allowed into America by law.
What has been done to America, to England, to France, and all the other White Nations is nothing short of treason. Those flooding in are not similar people moving from one nation to a similar nation. Those coming in are completely different, their sense of morality is different, their ideas of culture are different, their ideas of how the law is supposed to act is different. And on top of it all they are allowed to leach upon the tax payers.

Ignoring the fact that the vast, vast majority of those brought into the Roman Empire were whites of various cultures, tribes, and the “arabs” and “blacks” were at the far edges. He forgets that they didn’t exactly “integrate” the various peoples they conquered.
No they exterminated anyone who offered any idea of resistance or wanted to be left alone, and set up a Roman style government in the ruins. You either followed their model of civilization or were enslaved or just outright killed. Even following their model of civilization did not make you a citizen. No that had to be earned it was not just outright given. Those not Roman were second class citizens or slaves.
Note : This was added in after I wrote this. Upon rereading my comment it occurred to me why Ram-something or other holds the Roman Empire in such a view. He is Indian, so of course a caste system seems like a natural and good idea to him. Second he is a globalist. A One world government must have seemed like a dream come true.
Rome did its best to be a true one world government. It is not something to look at and say that is what we need. It completely trampled upon any ideas of liberty, freedom, or nationhood. If you were not Roman you were not human.
Also he forgets that Rome fell because at the end there was more foreigners than actual Romans. The deathblow came because those charged with guarding the borders allowed the Germanic Tribes to flood into Rome and do as they will. A lesson for the West currently I think.
There is a quote I read years ago. It was a throwaway joke, but it also was quite true. The joke is this. The Romans conquered the world out of self defense. They preemptively defended Rome against the Barbarians and Savages until the whole of the known world was under their rule.
Clarissa, your title for this post was completely on point. With Conservatives like this, who needs leftists to get us to a one world government.

Ramaswamy is supposed to be this bright new hope for conservatism yet every sentence out of his mouth is completely globalist. And we’ve already got a whole party of eager globalists. Who needs more?

No, or at least not to my knowledge. I wrote my comment and I typically reread my comments before posting, to try to catch spelling errors, and other various errors. I put that “Note” in when I suddenly had that realization as I was rereading my comment, but before posting my comment.
Typically I put stuff like that at the bottom as a Note, but it didn’t occur to me as I was in the middle of a revelation. And when it finally did occur to me it was too late, I had already posted.

LOL, it seems that all humans, all of us, every last one, is an admixture of varius sub-tribes of ancient Homo. There may very well have been a couple of darker skinned Emperors with some mixed PhoenecianSyrian descent as Rome was collapsing. But that does not excuse the nonsense, that no doubt originates in BBC wetdreams, about ancient multi-racial European leaders. ;-D
