Well, that was a major waste of money given that there’s only a handful of students in the whole country who know what Qatar is.
The idea that there are any Muslim, Arab or Qatari values represented in US higher ed is laughable.
People should stop looking for foreign influences and look closer to home. If Qatar never existed, would the US higher education be any less woke? Of course not. Then let’s stop wasting our time and concentrate on what is actually causing the problem.
You may want to rethink this.
“Well, that was a major waste of money given that there’s only a handful of students in the whole country who know what Qatar is.”
If you are paying to influence the future, there are many goalposts to choose to make your target. If you want your nation to be thought well of, then sure it was absolutely a waste of money. If however they had wished to cause chaos and internal strife, and to drive the US from being focused mainly on external policy to having to deal with internal division, thus making the US less watchful and focused on the exterior.
Well if that was the case, they have certainly succeeded, and as a bonus, only a handful of students even know who they are, which means less chance of retaliation.
It all depends upon what their end goal was on that influence. So like I said, you might want to rethink that statement.

All that being said, I do firmly agree with this statement.

I’m reading Days of Rage, and it looks like internal division was raging hot 50 years ago. Was that also Qatar?
I think it’s much more helpful to accept that Americans are very polarized over the issue of race. This is a huge suppurating sore that nobody imported here.

China, Russia, none of this matters in view of the fact that we have at least 40% of citizens murderously hating the rest for being imaginary Nazis.
I’m writing this from a meeting with members of the community who are expressing rage over the Nazi takeover of this country. We didn’t vote for Trump because Russia convinced us. And they are not holding their beliefs because Qatar convinced them. They are as sincere and convinced as we are. They know their minds and what they want is infinity migration, race justice, and transing children.

Kid, you are seemingly ignoring the impact of the largest “internal division…raging hot 50 years ago.” All communist revolutions depend upon identifying oppressors, and an oppressed group that can be developed, i.e., agitated, into overthrowing the former. Betty Friedan was a particularly “sincere and convinced” communist, it takes a special kind of arsehole to deliberately undermine Western Civilisation. We were a long time developing it ;-D
