Ukraine Update

Words cannot express the degree to which I’ve had it with these stupid media and their moronic headlines.

Something unprecedented happened in the recent phone call between Putin and Trump. Putin offered to relinquish two of the regions which he not only already occupied but for which he modified the Russian Constitution. He never offered anything like this before. It’s an enormous concession for him.

Now, the interesting question is why he’s suddenly so amenable. The Russian summer offensive failed badly. Russia sustained catastrophic losses with almost no territorial gain within the last year. These are WWI type losses with no gain. 40% of Russia’s oil industry has been destroyed by Ukrainian drones. There are long lines at the gas stations across the country. Young people are singing “fuck you, warmongering monsters” in the streets of St Petersburg. Putin is growing desperate.

These are the actual news and not what Trump did or didn’t toss. I’m so tired of the Trump obsession because it has stolen what little brain matter people had. It’s impossible to find an analysis of the situation anywhere because every journalist in existence is making everything about Trump.

  1. Sounds like this is good news despite how media wants to spin everything so it never seems like Trump did something helpful. Wishing an end to this war and peace to Ukraine.

    1. Thank you! I really appreciate it.

It really hurts my feelings when people use a terrible situation, a war to make partisan digs at Trump. This is not about Trump! He didn’t cause the war in any way. If you want to blame anybody in America, it’s Obama who made the war possible. Trump is annoyed because he is forced to solve a problem not of his making. He’s not been successful so far. Neither was Biden. As I’ve been saying since 2014, this is a very complicated issue. I so wish there were an easy solution. But there is none. Not because of Trump or Biden but because of a thousand years of history.

  2. Where are you getting this from? From everything I could read about that conversation, Putin never offered to relinquish two whole regions.

    1. Of course, he can’t relinquish two whole regions because he doesn’t hold them. He was offering some of the occupied parts.

He already took it back but the strain in Russia is clear, which is a good thing.

      1. So what you said had happened did not.

You said “Putin offered to relinquish two of the regions which he not only already occupied but for which he modified the Russian Constitution. He never offered anything like this before. It’s an enormous concession for him.”

Putin had previously offered to relinquish small areas of occupied parts of the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions in return for Ukraine giving up the rest of Donbass and leaving itself vulnerable for the next Russian invasion. It looks like he has repeated this offer.
