Well, she is hardly responsible for the physical appearance that she was born with, but she is entirely responsible for the utter ugliness of being “reluctant to unequivocally condemn 7 October”. Sorry, it may be reasonable to support a two state resolution, and even to observe that dispute has led to a century of, but it is quite another to refuse to condemn the torture, rape, and murder of 1200 men, women, and children.

Possibly is that only half of the citizens voted and more than 12% of those voted deliberately spoiled their ballots…and rather rudely are claiming that they are not being given an acceptable choice. This does not bode well for democracy, and do any of you realize that the King faced down Starmer ;-D

One tweet I saw from a New Yorker said all the people he knows who support Mamdani are immigrants or recent transplants and the more born New Yorkers support… one of the others I can’t remember which one.
In a sense it will be funny to watch (from a safe distance) and look forward to the rationalizations about why it didn’t work..

The polling I’m seeing shows Jews more evenly split than New Yorkers as a whole, which is unsurprising considering how many Orthodox Jews are in NYC (and I’m sure they’re not voting for Mamdani.) Still, why do 38% or so of New York Jews hate themselves? You always see tons of Jews at any “free Palestine” rally as well.

Being despised and persecuted outsiders is a pillar of Jewish identity and without out… who are they?
The US is a very accepting place and this makes them uncomfortable. So, subconsciously they work to make sure the majority will dislike them. It’s often unpleasant for individuals but it helps maintain group cohesion, without which they’re just another group of American randos.
That’s my current theory.
