True North

Global warming hits hard as we experience the coldest winter I’ve ever had in this region. Canadian levels of cold. I almost closed the window all the way at night. Which means it’s Arctic weather for real. The window is still open a crack but if things continue this way, I might really close it.

Yes, I’m loving every second of it. That moment when you feel like your eyeballs have frozen solid and might actually crack? Paradise.

  1. When the temperature first drops below freezing, say 30F, it can feel bitterly cold. Then it drops to below 0F and we are astounded. When the temperature rises to 20F we are amazed at how wonderful it feels.

  2. Being raised where it can be 40 F in the Summer and -40 F in the Winter, you can have my share — OK, maybe just a couple of inches of snow on Christmas Eve but just to make the kids happy ;-D

  3. LOL, that picture of vehicles with 3-4 feet of snow is what happens when a cold low whips up the Strait and piles a wet dump on the Island. Been there, done that, a couple of inches is enough just to make the little ones happy ;-D

    1. The New Mexico bit is very puzzling to me, actually the entire map is but New Mexico in particular. There is no seashore in New Mexico, it is high altitude and extremely low humidity. Parts of it are like a landscape on Mars (Mars rovers and related robotics are actually tested over there). Florida is the opposite of that. That border between the “New Mexico” and “Florida” in SA must be quite something…

But, I am impressed that someone knew that New Mexico is actually in the US. Most Americans do not know it is one of the states, which can get quite funny.

    1. Yes, it’s good news, for sure. Chile has been burning churches and experiencing anarchist riots since 2019. I wondered when normal Chileans would get tired of it. Looks like they did.
