Maduro Crimes

Are people aware that Maduro instituted a regime of sexual terror against dissidents? Peaceful, unarmed protesters, men and women, were raped in jail in ways that you don’t want to know. It was not an occasional thing, it was a policy.

Is this not general knowledge?

  1. Depends on where you get your news from.

But even in alt-media, no not general knowledge. You’d have to be really looking for VEN news, not just scanning what rolls across the boards in a more normal passive way.

  2. Eh, I don’t know. Venezuelan jails have always been terrible, even before Maduro and Chavez. Venezuela has not been very well functioning country for a long time.

  3. So is it our responsibility now to topple governments in countries that don’t treat their protestors properly? The utter neocon-ness of this post is insulting to my intelligence lol. When are you calling for new strikes against Iran? I’m hearing they’ve been treating their street protestors terribly too.

    1. You are reading into my post what isn’t there. I happen to have professional expertise on the subject of Hispanic countries and I’m sharing it. Maduro, as you know, was extracted from Venezuela long before I wrote this post.

      1. Venezuela is considered one of the 17 megadiverse countries in the world. Despite covering less than 1% of Earth’s land surface, it hosts an estimated:

        • 25,000+ plant species
        • 1,400 bird species (one of the highest counts globally)
        • 350+ mammal species
        • 300+ reptile species

        Ancient Tepui Ecosystems

One of Venezuela’s most distinctive natural features is its tepuis—isolated, flat-topped mountains in the Guiana Shield that are over 1.5 billion years old.

        • Many plant species found on tepuis exist nowhere else on Earth.
        • Some carnivorous plants and orchids evolved independently due to long-term isolation, making these ecosystems comparable to biological “islands in the sky.”
