Mechanical

It’s both annoying and funny to see every leftist in the country mechanically recite the same lines about Renee Good. I’ve never seen people so into repeating identical wording infinity times.

It’s also very bizarre that they invariably refer to her as a citizen. One after another, like windup toys, they chirp “US citizen legal observer.” All of a sudden they are really into the concept of citizenship and legality. Funny people.

    1. This. And about a million tiny accounts who repeat it like lemmings on meth. There’s definitely something psychological going on here. Maybe even physiological. Like extreme pleasure in conformity. Maybe it makes them feel less alone.

      1. “million tiny accounts”

There’s also bot activity. These people have racked up years of experience now, manipulating social media to make themselves look like a lot more people than they really are. It is really, really difficult for one person managing a server bank with a thousand accounts, to come up with original wording on the fly.

    2. The irony of posting a libsoftiktok (a certifiable retard) tweet to make a point about groupthink lol. Here is this retard waving a epstein folder full of nothing in your face, telling you this is the most transparent administration in history.

      1. Hello again Stringer. I’m completely 100% serious: are you OK?

I could be remembering wrong, but I vaguely recollect previous discussions with you in this combox where you weren’t incandescent with anger and attacking me, and seemed like a pretty reasonable person.

Perhaps it’s my memory that’s faulty? But if not… has something happened recently? I don’t hate you, and I’m puzzled by this turn. I hope your life is going OK.

        1. I’m fine and I appreciate your concern. You’re making this unnecessarily personal for some weird reason. I responded to “Anonymous.” You hadn’t even signed your name at the bottom of the comment, which you usually do. So I would have no way of knowing who it was that I was responding to. There’s no “turn,” I’m not ” incandescent with anger” lol.

          You doing ok?

          1. I’m as lousy as anyone at interpreting tone, but in the span of a couple of days you’ve called me retarded, and also implied I had some kind of gross sexual thing for Ben Shapiro (whom I cannot stand, btw).

I try to append a handle, since WP is being stupid and it is difficult to sign in since I switched computers, but I don’t always remember. Would it have made a difference?

            1. Once again, I have nothing against you. How could I? I don’t even know you! I use spicy language sometimes when I don’t agree with someone. Please don’t read anything into it.

It’s a longstanding habit of yours to count the number of dislikes you get on your comments and try to guess who might have left them, fantasizing about accounts following you down here from other blogs, and so on. Chill out.

      2. To be completely fair, the influencers had no idea what they were being given and why. It was sprung onto them. An underhanded move, for sure. Whoever came up with it is a bastard. But there’s no evidence that the influencers knew in advance.

  1. We all get influenced by propaganda, and those who think they’re immune to it are usually the most gullible among us. I remember a month ago people on here chirping about how Venezuela was a major drug hub, killing America with its drug trade, and getting all riled up over it, fueled by 1080p video footage of a couple of boats being bombed. A month later, nobody in the administration or the media even bothers to make that case anymore.

    1. I’ll include myself here, and every right-winger on this blog. We all got psyopped by the Trump campaign. We were galvanized by flashy video edits on social media, promises of a golden age, an end to the Palestine genocide (even Muslims in Michigan believed him, lmao), and no new wars. And it turns out the actual administration makes GWB look like Charles Lindbergh, DEI only for Jews, stronger speech laws, increased censorship, Israeli interests prioritized above all else, the Epstein files being called a hoax, and housing affordability being called a hoax too.

Is it fair to say that we all got propagandized? Every libsoftiktok video made us feel righteous anger that was then channeled toward an entirely different agenda.

      Your anger, their agenda.

      1. I unsubbed from LoTT ages ago, like I do with every source that farms outrage and updates too much. It still crosses my newsfeed occasionally via other outlets. Even trash sources occasionally produce something useful. Posting one link does not imply endorsement of the source.

Have you tried using video and image blockers on your internet browser? It improves the browsing experience immensely, and also goes a long way toward sapping the oomph out of whatever malign magic it is that propagandists and advertisers use. Images go straight to the animal brain. Text takes a longer way round. Amazing how different even a simple article is, once you subtract the completely unnecessary stock photo in the header. Using blockers doesn’t mean you can’t see those: it just means you have to do an extra two steps and give it permission to load.

I do it for neuro reasons (flashy lights and fast-cut video make me vomit– not metaphorically), but there’s nothing preventing anyone else from upgrading the internet experience this way 😉

  2. People like to laugh and say brainwashing and propaganda doesn’t work, but its unfortunate they both work, and work very well, even on those who think they are not absorbing it.

Some lessons from history. In Germany during the Wiemar Republic, the newspapers were almost completely owned by Communist or Communist supporting organizations. The Nazis had a really rough time getting established as they were constantly met with people preaching the communist lines. When Hitler finally had a chance, he removed all the opposition newspapers. Now granted the news that replaced it was pro-Nazi instead of anti Nazi, but it effectively broke any major internal resistance by the remains of the Communists inside Germany proper.

In the 1950s/60s the CIA in America started a project called Project Mockingbird. It was supposedly shut down decades later, but I highly suspect it was just placed under another name. The idea was to take junior CIA agents and insert them into the mainstream news. They would then be shifted using CIA influence, blackmail, bribes, etc. until they were in positions to be able to shape the news narrative. Thus ended the …. well they were never really true independent news media, but it was the start of the mess we see in the mainstream media today.

A few years ago, someone got curious and since we now actually have independent media once more, decided to show up at a protest in South Korea or Japan. I can’t for the life of me remember what it was about, but it was a bunch of leftists protesting something that would have helped the country. The Mainstream news said it was a massive protest. The actual journalist took video showing a crowd of a few hundred. What had happened is the news had repositioned the camera to make it look like a huge crowd.

The point is if its something the Mainstream Media is reporting, no matter what side, its generally a good idea to consider that there is a cornal of truth, and the story is being reshaped for one purpose or another.

In this particular case, I know absolutely nothing about what is going on, but I suspect that Ethyl is correct that a lot of those are bot accounts to fluff up the numbers.

Hitler had the right idea. He considered the Media the enemy to all of Germany and as soon as he had an opportunity to do so, they were the rightfully arrested and jailed.

I like the actual journalists, the independent ones, I think they are great no matter which side they support. The mainstream media however I consider traitors of the highest rank who for the betterment of all should be thrown in jail at first opportunity.

    1. Actually, the marketplace is slowly but certainly handling the media through the loss of both wealth and status. The more difficult question is how to identify those individuals that advocated DEI influencing illegal movements contrary to social mores, particularly those that benefited themselves within other cultural institutions?
