Because they like winning elections and they observed that this is a wedge issue that is splitting Republicans. They will use everything to get Republicans to talk about Israel and Jews to deepen the split.
This is what it means to have will to power.
Might also have something to do with previously reliable large funding sources getting cut off. Are they appeasing donors?
Not mutually exclusive.

“a wedge issue that is splitting Republicans”
What it looks like from abroad….. broadly speaking….
There’s a psyop going on among the new/alt/maga whatever you want to call it right.
Lindsay calls it the woke right and its aim is to destroy the movement by getting everyone to argue about Jews (and a few other things) rather than more pressing issues.
I suspect a couple of different…. entities behind it, probably russia, maybe christian crazies, maybe dems, I’m not sure and I can’t stand engaging with the content long enough to make more hypotheses…

Tucker Carlson’s most recent episode is dedicated to rubbishing Ron DeSantis over something Israel related. In the meantime, the number of Dem governors actively rubbished by the liberal media is lower than zero.
Somebody here is not very smart, and I wonder who that is.

They are scared of what DeSantis will do once his current term is up. Term limits say he can’t run for governor again.

Yes. He’s a great candidate for 2028.
The curious thing is that the Tucker crowd doesn’t have an alternative to DeSantis or Rubio. They don’t have their own candidate they are promoting this way. Vance they despise over Palantir links. Cruz they hate with a passion. There’s nobody left. What is their plan for 2028 then?

The plan is to lose. They’re working very hard for it.

The plan is promote whatever their bosses want them to promote 😉

Which is easier to do in opposition than in power, so the plan is to lose and be gadflies.

Well, at least they are working hard on something, so that’s good.
The electoral choice between devious, hard-working evil-doers and lazy clinical morons is not appealing.

You mean the current administration.

Btw, Rubio already said he’s not going to run if Vance announces his candidacy. There’s an actual chance that the GOP realizes they’re so cooked that potential candidates are keeping their powder dry for a run in 2032, leaving Vance to take a beating in the next election.
Kind of like how Newsom skipped 2024.

Like we have that much time to sit around and wait until 2032. This is the dumbest strategy if true. Which it might just as well be because I wouldn’t put any idiocy past these people.

As governor, he flew to Israel to sign a hate speech law that limits the speech rights of Americans. This is not defensible.
As far as his candidacy in 2028 goes, come on we’ve already seen him in action. What a dud he turned out to be. He’s been an excellent governor and I truly wish there were no term limits so he could be governor for life, but this man doesn’t belong on the national stage. Newsom would beat him like a gong.

Christian crazies certainly love that stuff, but I doubt their funding and organization levels for something like that. Would much sooner believe it is foreign governments.
For sure there’s a psyop element to it: all the correct new-right presstitutes moving in tandem on it.

Gillibrand has always been very pro-Israel and got in trouble last year for saying something about Mamdani that was considered Islamophobic.

Ocasio and Mamdani made the same statement. And others.

It was a rare and special moment that few realize they are witnessing when it happens – the birth of a party line.

In lindsay’s retarded conception of the world, Gillibrand would normally tweet in support of hamas, but only pivoted to israel to exploit the fractures within the GOP. I’m sorry, but this is stupid. The dem political establishment is equally subservient to israel, and they have their own problems with their base regarding this issue. Their base is not aligned with their donor class, which was most evident post Oct 7, and which turned out to be a significant factor behind their 2024 election loss.
Being servants of israel and the military budget are literally the only two issues that enjoy unanimous bipartisan support in congress.
