Birthday Gift

My husband said he doesn’t want a birthday gift of a trip to Italy, France or Spain. Instead, he wants a trip to Florida, to our usual place. And he’ll pay for it himself.

“Then what do you want as a birthday gift?” I asked.

“Love,” he said.

    So sad. When a person is deprived of a necessity in childhood it creates a hole that can never be completely filled….

      Nobody celebrated his birthday in childhood, and I still haven’t managed to get him to perceive it as festive. This is very sad.
