I Know Leftists

OK, who told you, my friends, and did it before anybody else that Tucker is a Berkeley leftist?

Now that’s he’s come out as an anti-colonialist, I rest my case.

If there’s one thing I know besides the uses of the subjunctive in Spanish and what to read, it’s leftists. Because they are everywhere in the places where I apply my mastery of Spanish subjunctive and my knowledge of literature. It would be strange if I didn’t recognize the little coocoos. What Tucker says in this video is verbatim what I heard from my Communist professor (literally, he was a proud member of the Communist Party of Spain) on September 11, 2001. The Communist professor and Tucker are also in complete agreement on Russia. And China. And I could go on.

I’ll do my “I told you so” dance in the morning because I don’t want to spook the cat at this late hour.

  1. He’s doing the rich-kid lifecycle. We’re on the return to roots now, after the youthful kicking around trying on radical identities to piss off your parents.

    1. He’s getting there about a couple decades too late but it’s not surprising, given that he spent many years too drunk to remember what happened.

  2. Current ultra-leftist Bad Empanada has a new video saying that Tucker is better at articulating anti-colonial critiques on the topic of Palestine, than supposedly pro-Palestinian Democrats. But Sr Empanada goes on to say that Tucker is still an imperialist at heart, he just thinks Israel’s actions are creating a bad look for the American empire, and that’s why he’s strategically deploying the anti-colonialism on this one topic.

    1. Forget Israel. In that same video he says that whites are inferior to non-whites. This is not remotely about Israel. He simply has the leftist sensibility that white people are evil while “people of color” are morally superior.

      1. Leftism simply means anti-white, anti-West, anti-Christian. That’s all there is to it. Everything else flows out of these 3 things. In the video, Tucker is 3 for 3.

Why do you think he’s for Russia and against Ukraine? Because Russia perceives itself as more Asian than European. And Ukraine perceives itself as very Western. This has been true for 400 years. Ukrainians have been scoffing at Russians for being half-Muslim savages this entire time. The most frequently expressed dream of the Russian wealthy class is polygamy. In Ukraine, you’ve got to be a complete social reject to want polygamy.

This is why liberal ladies slobber over the Koran. It’s brown-coded and not Christian.

        1. I actually tracked down where this clip is from. It’s episode four of the “Michael Waddell Podcast”, and Tucker is the guest. I went through it at high speed and much more than half of it is Tucker and the host talking about country life, camping, fishing, etc. Tucker describes it as a counterpoint to the technological destruction of human life that he sees going on, especially in big cities, and also the desolation of life dominated by politics to the detriment of individual conscience, etc.

Prior to the section being excerpted here, he says he travels a lot, and that cities throughout the white, European-descended world are in decline in the same way, and for the same reason, and it’s because people don’t respect themselves and are cut off from their heritage. They hate themselves for being white and they don’t believe in anything any more.

Then he describes going to the rich Arab cities of the Persian Gulf and says, I don’t believe what these people believe, I’m Christian and they’re Muslim, but I can see that they respect themselves and believe in their traditions and it gives them self-confidence and hospitality. Then comes his assertion that Muslim terrorists come from countries that were wrecked by colonial powers and are now filled with resentment, and he thinks the same psychology is taking shape in the West thanks to self-hate.

So no, he’s not anti-white, anti-West, or anti-Christian. In fact he’s saying that the West is in decline because such attitudes have become normal.

          1. And the hordes of Muslims who are flooding those declining Western cities love themselves and are not cut off from their heritage? It’s the colonial West’s fault that they are inflicting themselves on it? We are not eager to join them. They are eager to join us. So who’s in decline?

This is standard-issue Berkeley leftism. Monsieur Jourdain still doesn’t know that he speaks in prose.

              1. I don’t speak French, that’s a 54-second clip (am I really going to find one difference per 5 seconds?), and I’m worried about how much time I am spending on these discussions. Fortunately, you just made a few posts that I can cite, in order to state my position on what I think Tucker’s position is.

These are the posts “The West Formula” and “What Does Progress Want”. I would expect Tucker to agree 100% with those! The root of the differences that I can see, stem from Tucker’s desire to keep America out of war. He doesn’t want the US involved in war against Russia or Iran, so he’s used his platform to, let’s say, humanize the enemy in his terms (I include in this his positive words about the Islamic world in general), and vilify the ally (thus his attacks on Zelensky and Zionism).

I cannot resist adding an idea that I got from Nick Fuentes (who I think is a very astute analyst), that Tucker, Joe Kent, and J.D. Vance represent what I’ll call a “CIA MAGA” faction (Kent is ex CIA, Tucker’s father was CIA, Vance’s political sponsor Peter Thiel is a major CIA contractor, Carlson’s son works for Vance), which is now opposed to the pro-Israel MAGA of Trump 2026, and which (Fuentes suggests) is setting up Vance to be a peacemaker in this war, and wants Vance rather than Rubio to be the 2028 candidate.

I also wanted to say that some of your words remind me a little of Goldie Ghamari, the ex Ontario MP who is now a major informal spokesperson for the Iranian royalists who support the current war. Ghamari can’t say and doesn’t try to say that Iran is European or Christian. Her pitch is more just that Iran is civilized where Islam is barbaric, to differentiate Iran from Islam and say that the country is under occupation by Islam, and to claim affinity with Israel (she is 100% pro-Israel) by saying that Jews and Iranians are both representatives of civilizations that have existed in the region for thousands of years.

I’m going to try to refrain from further comment for at least a day because I have other things that urgently need attention, and some of your positions (Tucker is a Berkeley leftist, Muslim immigration implies the West is not in decline) have a Zizekian paradoxicality that I struggle to wrap my head around.

              2. “Find 10 differences” is a humorous way of saying that there are no differences.

I’ll just briefly observe that “make peace not war” was the original slogan of US hippies.

Good luck with the endeavors you need to accomplish.

Did you actually listen to that interview? Most of it was guys talking about outdoor activities. The discussion that you’re talking about begins about the 130 minute point and in context appears rational. The original citizens of the cities of the West are declining, not only in numbers, but in faith/hope. Muslims are expanding not only in Islamic countries but also those of the West.

              1. OK, so let’s apply some logic here. If Muslims are flocking to the West in droves, what does this tell us regarding the state of Muslim countries in comparison to the West?

In the USSR we were constantly told we live in paradise in comparison with capitalist countries. Yet the Berlin wall was trying to keep us in. Nobody was desperate to climb the wall to join us. You see what I’m saying? People don’t go where it sucks. It’s beyond ludicrous to say that Muslim hellholes are better than the West. The West’s problems are pinpricks in comparison to the Muslim world. The reason we don’t want Muslims here is because they’ll crap all over the really good thing we’ve got going. Right?

So what do we call a dude who pretends not to see it?

KIK, I am not suggesting that the West is not wealthier than most Islamic countries, much of their culture holds them back. No, the serious concern is that Muslim immigrants too often do not integrate and are even far less likely to assimilate (intermarry). And given Western replacement rate versus theirs, if you have a great grandaughter, unfortunately she will likely be wearing a burqa.

              3. LOL, Kid, I am not saying that Tucker understands Russia or Putin. He may well have been played, he may indeed have been taken to Potemkin areas of Moscow. He is also upper caste, born of considerable privilege. You also seem to feel that he doesn’t understand women, well that is not unusual, particularly if one is fortunate enough to have found an especially good one ;-D

That viewpoint no doubt affects his attitudes toward socially destructive behavior like feminist support of AA/DEI with the creation of Fuentes and the Groypers. That bothered you, but I was not surprised by such a young male response, I have been fearing such a response for some time.

In short, none of us are perfect. But, at least Tucker also has no problem openly admitting when he steps on his dick, i.e., his support for the war in Iraq. And that latter mistake no doubt deeply affects his viewpoint of current conflicts. But the man finds some peace fly fishing, so even an old redneck can relate ;-D

              4. At least, Tucker does tell his listeners that it’s important to get married and have children. That is good. I commend him for that. The current right-winger trend to shit on marriage is unfortunate.

              5. Well, we both can agree on the importance, but while I am old, I remember. So I know that the origin of the negative outlook on marriage emerged from the lefty, largely second wave feminist, leadership of the seventies, and has been developing ever since.

The right wing opposition is currently largely male and appears to be a response to subsequent negative feminist societal effects, most particularly on the courts. As for the youth, the Groypers, given the crap that has been pulled on that group of boys, what the hell did we expect? Do you really think that after abusing them throughout their schooling, society could then wield discriminatory DEI to effectively destroy any oportunity to succeed in employment and marital opportunity, no future, and that somehow there would absolutely be no consequences? Somehow this seems apropos ;-D
