The parents of Klara’s best friend gave the kid an iPad for her 10th birthday. I thought they were good people, and here they go and do this to me.

I should have suspected that something was wrong when I found out that this little girl had already informed all her friends that she never wanted to get married or have any children. At this age, this translates as “my mom bitches constantly about her life.” I should have known that a device was the logical next step, but it was easier to live in denial.

    Absent fathers will have the same effect even on the children of Patient Griseldas.

    What you do is always more effective than what you say, except, of course on media like this one.

    Why the PTB had to lock us all up in order to install the Bidenreich, Mask Sharia, and institutionalized child-mutilation.

      These are well-to-do middle class white families. Fathers are very much there.

      These are not the children of the low-IQ crowds I’m talking about here.

    That sucks about the tablet, that is going to mess with the kid so bad. My Mom is exactly like that, all I heard from her about our Dad was complaining about everything, how men are lazy and cleaning sucks and that kids are a pain in the ass. Which is why my older brother and I are lifelong celibates and our autistic younger brother plays video games and watches porn, we grew up thinking families and kids suck

      My mother told me my whole life that my birth ruined her life, so yeah. I wish people thought through the consequences of such behaviors before engaging in them.

        I agree, kids are sponges and they’ll soak that up. I grew up thinking marriage and kids sucked and that they hold you back, I got the sense our parents didn’t like us much. My cousins were raised by parents who didn’t resent them and are happily partnered up with kids, but I’m reasonably content with reading lots of books and publishing online, my parents weren’t ready for us

        This is why we’ve had to have repeated interventions with my MIL about her weird 2-kids-per-family neurosis. I have never yet had a visit with her where she didn’t bring up, completely out of the blue, a scathing and quite mean criticism of some family or other she knows that has more kids than she personally approves of (she’s had four btw). She personally does not think it is right or seemly or acceptable to have more than two children.

        We have three kids, and they’re not stupid. They *are* going to figure out eventually that she thinks our third child was an idiotic mistake, of which she strongly disapproves, and for which she blames me personally. It absolutely does not matter that she probably isn’t doing any of this *consciously*. I mean, it’s not like we can roll time back and delete our third kid to please her or anything. He’s here to stay, and we are not apologizing.

        But, dang. She can’t keep talking like that around the kids. WTAF.

          Anybody who is not insanely happy that there are more kids in the family is a psycho in my view.

          My cousin who dreamt of having children his whole life finally announced yesterday that his wife is pregnant. She’s 42 and has been in treatment for infertility for a decade. This is a miracle. I’ve been weeping tears of joy for two days. Completely overcome with joy. Tried to congratulate my aunt who will finally become a grandma but she barked at me. I don’t get people. This is the last chopper out of Nam type situation, and I’m the only one beside the actual parents who is flipping out with joy.
