AI posts are making social media downright unusable. They’re always very long, strangely spaced, weirdly punctuated, and narrated in soppy, slobbering, wistful tones that give me a headache.
It’s like when a clueless person is hired to work at your department and starts interrupting every conversation with long, weepy tirades that make everybody roll their eyes and grit their teeth.
And what I frequently see is a shorter summary or teaser narrative “above the fold” and then the long-form type you describe. Both seem clearly not human-authored. And although the two stories seem to have roughly the same story in mind, they are couched in different terms and often have a different starting point and character p.o.v. — maybe even 3rd person for one and 1st for the other.
(I won’t say different endings, as the teaser part naturally doesn’t show an ending at all. )

Yes! The prompt and the answer. This is every kind of annoying.
The writing is so bad, and all of these posts are so similar to each other, that I want to vomit.

I don’t know about the social media bit as I avoid most of it like the plague, but I can comment on AI writing as I read a lot of online fanfiction and original works. And you can immediately tell what was written by an AI.
The writing style is so jarring. There is no flow between the sentences if you get what I am saying. Sort of like it starts using descriptors for the scene and then doesn’t really understand how to then move on from there. Heck it tries to write thoughts and words from the characters as descriptors.
It feel very lifeless and stale, and it is really quite vexing as a lot of those that were AI written were actually great prompts and story ideas that I would have loved to read, but were just unreadable.
Which is why I say. Use the AI to generate a story line if you muse is on strike, heck, use the AI to generate scenes in the story, but then take it and flesh it out yourself. The AI while a useful tool shouldn’t be used for that part.
