I’m back in the best country on Earth, although only for a day because my journey continues tomorrow. I’m so beat by the aborted flights and trawling through airports that I haven’t read at all today. I can’t even remember when that ever happened.

I’m so sorry you’ve had such a horrible travel experience on top of the news of your mother’s decline. I hope the trip to Canada happens without difficulty, and that your time with your mom is as low-stress as possible.
